The NWU Gallery is proud to present the NWU Zine Fest 2026, a Social Anthropology student exhibition exploring the zine as an open form of de-colonial writing and making. The exhibition will be on from 19 to 23 October at the main gallery on campus. The second exhibition is the annual exhibition of the Visual Art for Education Students, running from 26 to 30 October at the NWU Botanical Garden Gallery. This annual showcase celebrates the creativity and professional development of Visual Art for Education students as they engage contemporary art practices through a diverse range of artworks and installations. Curator Sheryl Msomi joins Yolanda Maartens in the OFM Art Beat to share their excitement about the future of the arts and to thank everyone for their support in 2026.

The first solo museum exhibition by South African artist Anastasia Pather is being hosted at the William Humphreys Art Gallery in Kimberley till 26 November 2026. The exhibition marks a significant milestone in the artist's career and reaffirms the gallery's commitment to providing a platform for artists whose work expands the language of contemporary South African art. Anastasia joins Yolanda Maartens in the OFM Art Beat to share her excitement and to talk about the fact that she uses her fingers instead of brushes to create her art.

Liesel Wessels is 'n kontemporêre Suid-Afrikaanse kunstenaar wat in 'n realistiese styl werk; haar kuns word geïnspireer deur die skoonheid, emosie en fyn besonderhede wat in sowel mense as die natuur gevind word. Elna van der Walt balletskool in Bloemfontein nooi jou na hul produksie Aladdin in die Sand du Plessis teater op 20 en 21 November. Kaartjies is beskikbaar by Webtickets. Elna, Elrine en Jaco sluit by Yolanda Maartens aan in die OFM Kunsteklop om te vertel wat die produksie vir die ballerinas beteken, waarna die publiek alles kan uitsien en om in die opwinding te deel van gemeenskap akteurs wat saam met meer as 200 dansers die verhoog deel.

Die Groot Kersfees Saamsing kom vir die eerste keer, in samewerking met PACOFS na die Sand du Plessis teater in Bloemfontein. Enige lid van Bloem se publiek word dan die geleentheid gegee om deel te wees van ‘n massakoor. Ongeag ouderdom, agtergrond, musikale kennis of sangvermoë, jy kan registreer op Quicket.co.za om deel te word van die koor en ontvang daarna jou stempart. Dirigent Gerry Cornelius en tjellis Peter Martens laat die werke van Arnold, Sjostakowitsj, Strauss en Poulenc herleef tydens Love Good Music – die Vrystaatse Simfonieorkes se finale konsert vir 2026. Luzanne Eigelaar van die Odeion Skool vir Musiek sluit by Yolanda Maartens aan in OFM Kunsteklop om jou uit te nooi om op 31 Oktober by die Odeion in Bloemfontein goeie musiek te kom geniet. Die Odeion-strykkwartet (OSQ) bied hul laaste aandkonsert van 2026 op Donderdag, 22 Oktober, om 19:00 in die Odeion-ouditorium in Bloemfontein aan. 'n Hoogtepunt van die aand sal die wêreldpremière van The Exhibition deur Chesney Palmer wees, asook 'n nuwe strykkwartet deur Nicholas Smit. 'Opera Highlights' brings together all three voice lecturers of the Odeion School of Music in concert with some of the most beautiful opera arias and ensembles. If you want to introduce someone to opera music, then this is the concert for them. Mezzo-soprano, Teresa de Wit, baritone, Aubrey Lodewyk and tenor, Albertus Engelbrecht, join forces with pianist and vocal coach, Hans Potgieter, in a programme that focuses mainly on Romantic opera repertoire. As leser sit jy saam met Tobie en sy gaskunstenaars in sy ruim sitkamer – daar is áltyd rooibostee en glutenvrye koekies – terwyl daar openhartig gesels word. Tobie Cronje leef nie in die verlede nie, so vertel Chris Vorster wat die enorme taak aan gepak het om Tobie se lewenswandel vas te vang. Daar is soveel om te ontdek en dit word op ‘n besondere wyse in die boek uigebeeld. The Free State Youth Orchestra (FSYO) continues to play a vital role in shaping the next generation of South African musicians. As a key component of the Free State Symphony Orchestra Company, the FSYO serves as a feeder orchestra, nurturing young talent and preparing them for professional musical careers. Joining Yolanda Maartens in the OFM Art Beat to talk about their concert titled, Reflections: Becoming, is conductor Dingaan Chabalala, violinist Jaden Shuping and violinist Olivia Seekoei.
