@GameAgentET and The Six-Button Samurai reflect on doing the show for three years, and how the games industry has mutated in a variety of ways. Every console maker has their pros and cons, but our hearts definitely beat the hardest for those striving to deliver fun new experiences no matter the platform. We also circle the idea of spending some time with the original Banjo-Kazooie, as a recently unearthed article had Shigeru Miyamoto praising the game as rivaling his own Super Mario 64. We also chat about the forthcoming Gold Master Series effort from Digital Eclipse, enshrining a whole bunch of great Tetris games that never came to the US as Tetris Forever. So get your T-spin on and slam the long piece down for the latest OH GOD IT Hz!

With Tokyo Game Show afoot, and more rumors + news of new hardware offerings afoot, GameAgentET and The Six-Button Samurai dive right in. We dip into the widely-felt sticker shock over the PlayStation 5 Pro's $700 pricetag, and why that may or may not be entirely valid, along with the leaked images and specs for the successor to the Nintendo Switch, and far-less grounded rumors about the future of Xbox possibly including a handheld to steal some thunder from Nintendo and Steam. JJJ and Eddy also ask why in the heck Sony bothers making so few 30th Anniversary-branded consoles and accessories available in a way that guarantees little impression from consumers writ large, instead courting the usual savagery from scalpers. Sometimes, you can be just a little bit too far ahead of the curve. Our guest Ed Farias is just one of those visionary people, building proto-retrogaming computers as far back as 2001, way before Raspberry Pi or MiSTer was around. OGIH cohosts @GameAgentET (OGiH), and The Six-Button Samurai (along with special guest Aaron Holley) were along for much of this ride, especially when Arcade-In-A-Box became a force within the FGC, selling custom-made joysticks for Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 as Street Fighter IV resurrected the fighting game scene in 2009. It's a joyful and tangled DIY saga, proving the old adage 'if you build it, they will come' quite true. All this, along with the highs and lows of putting together a yet again too-soon retrogaming show for YouTube back in 2012 AND running a game center to boot. Join us for the wild yet absolutely true history of an intense collaborative journey on the latest OH GOD IT Hz!

GameAgentET & The Six-Button Samurai serve up a 50/50 bar of ice cold delights, as RRN's own Allijah Motika returns to talk about his awesome experiences at the PoGO World Championships last month in Hawaii. Then we get into what's filling us with joy, as Eddy talks about M2's latest revisitation of the Castlevania franchise with the Castlevania Dominus Collection and Tengo Project's Shadow of the Ninja - Reborn, while JJJ speaks to the Metacritic megaton shot that is Astro Bot. Of course, not all is well in the realm, so we tackle some of the latest mishaps that confound common sense in the industry, not the least of which is the disastrous un-releasing of Sony's Concord hero shooter, and Microsoft's failure to ensure smooth third-party relations for games it needs very badly. GameAgentET and The Six Button Samurai are feeling those dog days of late summer, with a very slow news cycle in gaming, but there's been some interesting things to celebrate, like a new SuperFX chip 3 being utilized in a new physical cartridge offering of DOOM on SNES, and some very positive news about Tango Gameworks being acquired by a Korean publisher. We also talk about games that were TOO MUCH GAME, as in late offerings for consoles that really make those machines burst at the seams on a technical level like Perfect Dark for N64 and Burning Rangers on the Sega Saturn. Warning: there is yet another active discussion on the merits of BLUE STINGER in this episode. Sorry, not sorry. Enjoy this latest episode of OH GOD IT Hz!

GameAgenstET and The Six Button Samurai dive into a philosophical discussion about the games that move us, and how in an age of weighing games by follow-up DLC support or how long a game takes to complete, a key aspect of what makes a good game great may be falling by the wayside. EVO is also happening quite literally as we speak, and the shadow drop of SVC Chaos (not to mention the looming release of SNK's Terry Bogard as SF6 DLC) steers us right into an oral history of what happened when Capcom and SNK originally collaborated around the turn of the millennium. It's not a struggle, it's a match of two gamers across the Pacific laying down their love for games on the latest OH GOD IT Hz!

The Six-Button Samurai and GameAgentETare joined by longtime friend and former fellow fighting stick assembler, Aaron Holley, who unlike The Last of Us's Joel and God of War Kratos, actually enjoys fatherhood while trying to get in some gaming with his trusty SteamDeck. He provides a fresh third perspective as we take a last conclusive dip into the Not E3 Summer showcases, talking about what we're looking forward to the rest of the year in gaming. Plus, we talk about the sheer challenge that awaits the folks making the just-announced new live action Street Fighter movie. It's a damned fun episode, so don't sleep on the latest OH GOD IT Hz!

@GameAgentET (OGiH) and The Six-Button Samurai continue to be awash in trailers for new games as Not E3 Season marches on. We stop to pick apart the Season 2 DLC announcement for Street Fighter VI, as longtime SNK stalwarts, though Eddy himself had some timing qualms about what it all meant for the future, while James took a rosier view of the big news. Then our heroes plunged headlong into the Xbox Games Showcase 2024, which to be fair, was pretty jam-packed with a lot of great-looking new games, delivering the Xbox faithful a much-needed shot of positivity and something to look forward to. (The calculated PR rehab of the Three Microsoft Suits, perhaps, not so much.) Don't miss the latest episode of OH GOD IT Hz!

It’s ‘Not E3 Season’ in the gaming industry, and in 2024 that means a loose amalgamation of streaming events that mostly seem destined to underwhelm, as the long tail of development weirdness from the pandemic continues to sow instability after a horrific round of layoffs this year. Despite this, @GameAgentET (OGiH) and The Six-Button Samurai continue to charge into the breach, discussing Sony’s State of Play event and the forthcoming Summer Game Fest, Xbox Games Showcase, and the June Nintendo Direct (whenever that happens). In this episode, we also pick apart the fortunes of various game franchises, parsed by The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly. We also stop to observe the 1st Anniversary of Street Fighter VI, and what our hopes are from Season 2. We’re in a fighting mood on the latest OH GOD IT Hz!
