Hebrew, Aramaic, Greek: the languages of the original text of Scripture are RICH with meaning and help us understand God's Word even better. While you don't need to be a Biblical language scholar or take a class on Ancient Hebrew to be able to read the Bible, we find that looking up words in their original form can be so meaningful in studying Scripture. A melodic line is a succession of notes forming a distinctive sequence. While there are a lot of different notes and sounds that make up a song, the melody is described as a “distinctive sequence.” You can hear it and recognize it above all the other notes. One could say the melody is the THEME of a song. So is there a melodic line in Scripture? Yes!

Jesus is the “melodic line.” Jesus is that central theme. All of it points us back to Jesus.
