Have you ever just woken up with body pains and aches for no known reason? If not, then you must not be 30+ so give it time. The ladies do their weekly catch-up on aging and on how cycling hurts the lady parts. Sherene’s cycling bike is the definition of “no pain no gain”.
As they dive into the main topic, “Advocating for yourself: In work and life”, they share important information that they have both experienced that adults do not share enough with young people growing up. They discuss requesting promotions and increases, being willing to move to another company, and realizing that “NO” isn’t the worst thing you hear in life. Companies do not usually reward based on merit if you do not recognize that you are worthy of the reward. Be your biggest cheerleader and let them know your worth.
In the Bible breakdown, they cover Genesis 11 and why God thought humanity was too powerful when they all spoke the same language and worked together to achieve goals. It speaks a lot to the divides in today’s society.
Finally, the historical fact of the week is about the portable mini-computer that is many people’s lifeline…the cell phone. Would you pay the equivalent of $9,100 for a cell phone that was the size of a brick? Well, you would if you wanted to be one of the first to have the revolutionary technology.

The episode ends with a fun historical fact about the one of the most famous pirates in history, Ching Shih.
This week’s episode starts off with Sherene feeling bamboozled by these cookies she ordered. That’s what happens when you have a strong sweet tooth! Nichole is excited about her new board games and gets into an article she read about sharks living in volcanoes. Can we just say, 2020?
The ladies dive in to this weeks main topic, adulting. They discuss their sides with this and come to realize that their upbringings were completely different which has them see all perspectives. They can agree though that adulting is not all that they thought it would be. Some days you just want to lay in bed and have zero responsibilities because you simply don’t want to “adult.”
For this week’s Bible breakdown, they go over Genesis 8 and Sherene realizes that maybe she can build the alter she has always wanted.
Don’t forget to rate this podcast and hope you enjoy today’s episode!
It was a busy week in the news starting with the shooting of Jacob Blake by police, followed by the shooting of protesters by 17 year old Kyle. This is further proof of how people of color are treated by the law. Jacob was shot because he might have reached for a gun, while Kyle was not initially stopped by police who responded to the report of a shooting, despite Kyle visibly carrying a rifle in the vicinity.
Nichole found out some crazy information and you really need to listen to this episode if you want to know what the USDA is allowing processors to do to your chicken. The ladies discuss whether it might be time to become vegetarian or is chicken worth eating cancer? They also talk about multiple cultures delicious ways of tricking you into vegetarianism without all the guilt and shaming.
The Bible Breakdown this week was for Genesis 7. The rain started and Noah and his family were the only ones to survive.

Vaginal steaming is apparently a thing that Sherene plans to have done, while Nichole is buying clothes that may not fit.
The ladies do a shoutout to an amazing fan..."Hey Mimi", before talking about Aunt Becky's ridiculous two month prison sentence that she probably won't even serve.
Do you want a Splenda daddy/mama, Sugar daddy/mama, or a Honey daddy/mama? There are levels to the game baby, so know before you play. Sadly, Nichole might be too cheap and Sherene might want too much too fast.

Bible breakdown:
Genesis 6….God did reduce our years because we are evil, and Noah is told to build an ark.

If you haven’t heard of “White Rage”, then add it to your book club list because it is a book that everyone must read. Thank you FPL for sucking and sending Nichole back to paperback reading roots.
Sherene discovered a whole new reality show diaspora of black women in the Real Housewives of Potomac.
We also discuss Trinidadian Islamic State recruitment and fallout, as well as, musicians putting Trump on the do not play list, before getting to the topic of the week: Women Empowerment and Sex Work.
This episode was recorded before the WAP (by Cardi B and Megan the Stallion) music video controversy exploded. But it truly serves as a perfect example of what we speak to in the episode. Society needs to stop picking and choosing when it is okay for women to embrace their sensuality, even in regards to sex work. There is nothing wrong with a woman profiting from her sensuality as long as it is concentual.
Finally, we cover Genisis 4. You get murder, lies, and lineage, before we leave you with a historical nugget…it only took 104 years for British Vogue to hire it’s first black cover photographer. Yup, it was long overdue and just happened last week.
We hope you enjoy. Rate us and email us. Thanks for listening.

Trump is still on the war path against undocumented immigrants in the census despite the constitution, but we are still better off than the three women sentenced to two years in an Egyptian prison for dancing on TikTok.
If you haven't gotten mesmerized into thinking it would only be a few minutes, to then realize that it is now midnight and you have to be awake in a few hours, then you haven't done TIKTOK. It is truly an entertaining and yet inspiring app. Yes, people dance and do silly things, but you can also find easy to digest tips and tutorials. As well as, use the app to bypass the mainstream media to get realtime videos out to the masses or just to prank the president. LOL.
