Improving access to quality healthcare for the world's most vulnerable
As immigrants we all experience first hand how unstable and inaccessible healthcare is for the people we grew up with and love back home.
We've also experienced what happens when there are protections in place to cover things like emergencies and accidents. Most of us go about our lives without a care in the world because we know that should the unfortunate happen, there will be a team of doctors, nurses and a whole healthcare system setup specifically to handle it.
For years, we've suffered through the early morning calls from relatives with bad news of our loved ones in a life or death situation or the frequent requests for money to cover a health bill.
Year after year, we hear the economists and experts talking about the cliché billions of dollars in remittances sent back home and yet nothing ever changes.
So we are finally doing something about this, in partnership with all of you with loved ones back home regardless of where home is. For immigrants, by immigrants.
Fleri - meaning "to flourish" in the Creole language of Haiti, embodies the hopes and dreams of the millions of immigrants who have ventured out to make life better for themselves and the people they love back home.
Fleri's mission is simple: to help immigrants protect the people they love wherever they are.
