We're living in a very interesting time where the mass of people power by the evolutionary internet can control your life. In an old fashion pitch forks and fires outside of the house situation, we're standbys watching to see the how the story plays out because it's natural to want to destroy the monster terrorizing the people. Right?? But what if we're monster? Who is going to pitch fork and fire us?

Instead of the pitch forks, we use our phones, laptops, desktops and instead of the fire, it's out social media accounts. Welcome to the age of cancel culture where the people rage on canceling a persons lively hood for have an opinion or his stance on some thing that the majority do not agree. In some levels, there is a to stifle an individual's "views" because it is hate speech or insinuates violent acts upon a particular group. That needs to be canceled. But does it really? How do we know how to interact with one another to achieve the greater good of accelerating the human race forward? Why can't you have an opposite opinion and still be respected as an individual? What are the dangers of stifling people because you don't like what they say or do?

So I'm on a Mr Robot binge (If you haven't seen the show....PLEASE watch it) and It dawns on me how much information about myself is out there on the web. And not just me, you too. How much information do we share about ourselves? Have you noticed how you can search for a particular pair of shoes and next thing you know, ads of that exact shoe is posted everywhere? They are watching us, every minute and every second of our lives predicting our motives.

When people talk about self care, you’ll usually hear the basic methods of “how to pamper yourself”

These examples are all true and you rightfully should do these things for yourself but I think what’s not being spoken of more in the “self care” message is what it looks like and the process of what true self care is. It all starts with the mind and this past year I’ve took the most time with myself and had full on therapy sessions to understand how my mind works. One of the best tools I’ve used to understand myself was an Enneagram test. It’s a series of questions and based on my answers it will give me a type that my personality best represents. With each types come strengths, weaknesses, fears, career advice...everything. I’ve done similar exams but this one hits more and I think it’s because of the time I took to look more inward. It reflected what I felt I knew about me so it wasn’t bullshit and because I trusted it’s legitimacy, I’ll trust how I could improve myself hence the tittle....Be Selfish

For me....I have to remind myself that I need to established borders, TRULY TAKE CARE OF ME(that even means giving myself tough love), and accept that people won’t like me JUST BECAUSE....and that’s sexy

There is no better time to move up in your life then right now. At this moment. At this second. Take all that you have learned and apply it, grow from it and develop because if you're reading this, that means you could survive through anything.

Are you aware of how much content you are consuming? From podcasts, to music, the news, social media apps, YouTube and Twittc...your friends and family

How much content do you consume? Here's an interesting question, who's voice is speaking? is it your voice? Or is it the voice of someone else?

We as humans are interesting social creatures. We can be as fragile as a feather and resilient as an Iron FUCKING Train and still get sucked into endless cat videos on Facebook(They're so fucking cute)

Or get caught up in a social issues that's charged with racial implications or relationship pseudoscience that rationalize insecurities. What if we get so caught up in our content that we become walking beacons of that content? Who are we then? What are we? Are we us or what we consume?
