This week I talk to Simon Robinson and if you don’t know Simon, he has had one of the most wild stories of starting as a zoo keeper to being a production coordinator for Slipknot. Simon has worn many hats as a Merch manager, production coordinator, and tour manager for such artists as Skindred, Coal Chamber, Devil Driver, At The Drive in, Bring Me The Horizon, and Slipknot. We talk about his journey from the zoo to working for Slipknot and how he is holding up through the pandemic in the UK. We also talk about the Iowa State Fair and how it is a far superior fair to all fairs. Enjoy!

Bob and I discuss the challenges of pivoting in a new world, get nerdy about audio consoles, and come to the conclusion that Truly is garbage.

This week on Oil Spotted I talk with Matty Rigg, who has shuffled between working in the touring industry and tv/film production. He's also the owner of www.wuhanbat.com and will sell it to you if you're interested. We talk about Matty's experiences in the past year continuing to travel heavily for a tv production and how they managed to do it safely. 

In the touring world Matty stayed busy as a merch manager, stage manager, guitar tech, tour manager, and an amateur prop master for such artists as Norma Jean, Comeback Kid, Pierce the Veil, Eric Hutchinson, EDEN, and Daniel Caesar. In the tv/film production world Matty has been incredibly busy as a production manager and AD and worked with such talent at Gordon Ramsey, Nick Offerman, Amy Poehler, Eric Andre, and LL Cool J just to name a few.

Happy New Year friends. We are going for a double whammy for the first episode of 2021. A two for one if you will. We have Joy Johnson and Joey Brodnax on the podcast. All three of us have experienced so much on so many different tours with different artists, that it seemed strange not to have them both on together.

Joy Johnson @joy_ofalltrades does everything under the sun on tour... hair, makeup, stylist, personal assistant, TM assistant, and merchandise manager. She has worked for such artists as Maddie and Tae, Kaleo, Eden, and Roanoke just to name a few. Joey Brodnax @joeybrodnax solidified himself as a one stop shop for artists and brands. Based in Nashville as well, Joey is an incredibly talented videographer, photographer, director, producer, editor, and artist on top of that.
