Fundamental Faith - A Choice to Believe

Matthew 7:24-27

24 “Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. 25 Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won’t collapse because it is built on bedrock. 26 But anyone who hears my teaching and doesn’t obey it is foolish, like a person who builds a house on sand. 27 When the rains and floods come and the winds beat against that house, it will collapse with a mighty crash.”

I have lived here in Texas since I was teenager, prior to that I had no idea what it was like to be in the middle of a Hurricane. But believe me, nearly 40 years later I have seen a few. One thing is for sure, when one comes, you want to be in a place that has a firm foundation.

In today lesson, we discuss the foundation of choosing to believe and faith in the Living God, Jesus Christ. What does it many really to have an intimate relationship with God, is it just about showing up every Sunday morning or is it much more?

“As we Blow the HORN of God” Part 4 “Is it a Show or Overflow”

“Then Lord said to Joshua, “See, I have delivered Jericho into your hands, along with its king and its fighting men. 3 March around the city once with all the armed men. Do this for six days. 4 Have seven priests carry trumpets of rams’ horns in front of the ark. On the seventh day, march around the city seven times, with the priests blowing the trumpets. 5 When you hear them sound a long blast on the trumpets, have the whole army give a loud shout; then the wall of the city will collapse and the army will go up, everyone straight in.” Joshua 6:2-5

In this episode, we discuss that we must often consider, “Is it a SHOW or Overflow?” As a vessel for the Lord Jesus Christ, we must evaluate if we are living out the life, we are calling people to on and off the air. Are we cultivating our own individual relationship with the Lord daily, sincerely and authentically?

We have been created in the image of God. He is a triune being, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. He has no beginning and will have no end. He is Eternal. As image bearers, God created us with three parts, a body, mind and spirit. When the body and mind dies, the spirit lives on eternally. However, the question to consider is where will eternity be spent? A strictly Individual decision. With God or apart from God. The Lord said, “I set before you death and life, choose life”
