It was called "The Trial of the Century", but far more interesting than the trial itself is the enduring legacy of OJ Simpson; the way his story serves as a condemnation of some of the most sickening and shameful parts of modern American culture; the enduring legacies of racism and misogyny; a culture in which celebrities are both idols to be worshiped and commodities to be consumed and discarded; the shallowness of our legal system, and the immorality of our media industry.
