嚴格說來，call在這裡是 telephone call，phone call(電話) 的意思。phone當然是telephone的省略，telephone 是由 tele-(遠的)和phone(聲音)組合而成的字。 
Not that I know of.可看作是No，there were no calls for you as far as I know.的省略，意思是「就我所知，沒有~」。 以下是一些可供練習的例句:
