麻煩在轉角停車

-Let me off at the corner, please. 

-我要停在哪裡? 
-麻煩在轉角停車。 

在前面我們說明過,說者和聽者彼此都很清楚的事,通常 可以省略,像Where should I stop?的後面,就省略了 the car。至於第二句的let,則是「要某人做某事」、「准許某人 做某事」的意思。 
Let me off.是Let me get off. (讓我下車。)的省略。在文法上稱為「間接命令」,可以構成對第一人稱和第三人稱的命 令句。 
Mother, let me come shopping with you. 
(媽,讓我跟你一起去買東西。) 
Let me say it again.  
(我再說一次吧。) 
Let Joe do it.  
(叫喬去做這件事。) 
Let us (Let's) go skiing.  
(一起去滑雪吧。)〔let's用於提議的時候〕
