A DOT number is a unique identifier issued by the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) to commercial motor carriers and other entities that operate commercial vehicles. It is used to track and regulate the safety and compliance of these entities as they transport goods and passengers on the nation's roadways.
However, as of my last knowledge update in September 2021, Oklahoma did not issue its own specific DOT number. Instead, motor carriers operating in Oklahoma would typically obtain an Oklahoma USDOT number directly from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), which is a part of the U.S. Department of Transportation. This USDOT number would be used for tracking and compliance purposes both within and outside of Oklahoma.
Please note that regulations and procedures can change over time, so I recommend visiting the FMCSA website or contacting the Oklahoma Department of Transportation for the most up-to-date information on DOT numbers and other related requirements such as IRP Oklahoma filing.
We offer full trucking authority packages to make the launching of your trucking company business go more smoothly. The Department of Transportation regulates safety so doing it right in the begging is very important.
