Jenni Holbrook is the head coach of the 3A Girls basketball champion Jones Lady Longhorns. When she came to Jones, there were no banners for state qualifying Girls teams at the school. Now there are two. Her 2020 state qualifiers' season ended at the door of State Fair Arena. Her 2021 state qualifiers walked out of State Fair Arena with the 3A Girls Gold Ball. Follow the journey of the Lady Longhorns from the opportunity stolen by the covid pandemic, to the 2021 state championship.

Keondre Young scored 26 points in the 6A Boys Championship Game to help the Del City Eagles claim the gold ball. He's thrilled to finish his senior year as a state champion. The son of a former Hale Ranger star and current Jenks basketball head coach Clay Martin, Chase Martin was practically raised in a gym. Basketball was bound to be in his future. He began to get serious about it in grade school. Now, as a junior guard for the Jenks Trojans, he's playing under his father's guidance and getting some looks from big time programs. In 2020 the Jenks Boys basketball team qualified for the state tournament only to join the ranks of disappointed teams when the tournament was postponed and then canceled by covid. Jenks coach Clay Martin has his team in position to make another run to the state tournament this year. It hasn't been easy. Covid put him in the hospital and kept him out of his work as an NFL referee for several weeks. Now he's hoping for a strong finish for the Jenks Trojans in 2021.
