16: Old Earth: The King’s List - The Sumerian King’s List or Chronicle of the One Monarchy is an ancient literary composition written in Sumerian that was created to legitimize the claims to power of various city-states and kingdoms in southern Mesopotamia during the late third and early second millennium BC. What's fascinating about the King's List is that the first eight kings reigned for a total of 241,200 years from the time the kingship "descended from heaven" to when a catastrophic Flood wiped out the earth.
