Spencer and Dave are continuing their Crocodile Dundee marathon this time with good ole number 2. The Paul Hogan sequel that retains all the main cast and takes Dundee on another adventure, starting off in New York and then back to Australia. For the most part, the core elements are still intact but there is an odd action movie premise that takes hold of the whole film and feels just a bit off. Sue gets captured by Columbian drug lords and it's up to Dundee to find and rescue her. Then they hide out in Australia and literally fight them all off with traps like Rambo in First Blood. Or Home Alone even for that matter. It just sort of deludes the Croc formula and places in a made for TV like revenge thriller story. Not bad, just off a bit. Oh well, they can't all be top tier winners. There's still tons of fun to have in this journey, nonetheless.

Spencer and Dave are going back to the 80s to talk the classic film, Crocodile Dundee. Starring Paul Hogan and Linda Kozlowski in a mix genre of adventure, romance, and comedy as local Australian hero and legend, Mick Dundee is interviewed by Sue Charlton for her dad's newspaper back in New York City. She journeys to the Australian bush to see this croc wrangler's life in action then decides to bring the man back to the city to see a different kind of wildlife.

The film is just pure excellence, great jokes, fun characters, and between this and Mad Max, this is where Americans learn all the core elements of the Australian way of life. Dundee is a pure old world manly man, who takes care of business and meets new friends everywhere he goes. So charismatic that you can only hope to be like him as much as possible.

We watched the film on Amazon Prime which still has the original American version intact and uncensored. Unlike that Encore 4K version that came out just a while back that censored out like 2 minutes of the movie. Which, there is nothing truly offensive in this comedy. It's just a man from a different world, making comments on new discoveries. And art should never be tampered with. That is the biggest slippery slope to censorship across the board.

Beyond that version, there is the Australian version that adds about 10 minutes more in along with more Australian slang. I tried to find a way to watch that film here in the States, but it seems like the only practical way to secure that version is to buy an Australian DVD and get an All Region Player. One day that would be cool to see on a proper 4K Blu Ray Release.

Spencer and Cameron are back with a new episode of the Silent Evil Podcast talking about the brand new Survival Horror game, Silent Hill F. The first return of the franchise since Downpour in 2012, dis-including the SH2 remake and collections. This one here is a brand new story and game along with being Konami's first big new game in over a decade! A boy, what a return to form. This game fires on all cylinders with its classic feeling gameplay, spooky atmosphere, and thrilling storyline that you just have to play over and over to make it all come together. And then you still will be questioning moments.

Set in 1960s Japan, post war era, it's a story about a high school girl Hinako who just wants to make her own decisions in life and be a tom boy. But this era of Japan is still strict and it's odd to venture from the path of society set forth. So, she has to deal with her drunken father and weak mother, peer pressure sister, two girls that are supposed to be so called friends, but they are beyond two faced, and her best friend Shu who is still pretty oblivious to some of the things going on. This creates a turning point in two directions for Hinako to go and this is how the dark world of Silent Hill creeps its way in. With multiple ending choices including the always fun UFO secrets. This game literally takes us back to the original 4, Japanese era Silent Hill games. Really, this one could be number 5 in that run. Not saying that the other post American made games are off in any way, just different is all.

Silent Hill F is about as classic a Silent Hill experience one could get with all the great survival horror mechanics and topped off with a modern flow. Really, we think it's the best experience since 3. Maybe even right there behind the grand daddy of number 1.

Exactly 10 years after the book by David Morrell was released and we do a little compare and contrast to that experience as well. Spencer and Cameron are talking all about the latest survival horror game from Bloober Team. Cronos The New Dawn. Like a fusion between The Thing, Resident Evil 4, Soma, and Dead Space, yet still uniquely its own. With a cool 1981 Soviet post-apocalyptic look in Poland, weird mutated and merging monsters, and a twist and turn filled story that still leaves some questions after the whole experience. The game is great, if just a tad bit on the longer than necessary side, with solid gameplay mechanics, and a tough yet forgiving difficulty.

Spencer and Buddy are talking all about the latest Mafia game, The Old Country and enjoying the living daylights out of the whole gameplay experience and story. Asking the questions that go along with the other 3 games and how it all connects. This game is about as dialed in as one can get. All killer, no filler. Just to the point and without ever dragging on too long like so many video games out there are notorious for. This is the real deal and gives you the early 1900s Sicily experience in both its landscape and characters. We can't say more good things about this one.
