The Conversation
The Restaurant Guys are on location at Old New Orleans Rum distillery (now closed). Their guide walks them through the distillery’s traditional practices of sourcing their molasses “from 90 miles up the road” to both pot and column distillation. Join them on this rumtastic journey!
The Inside Track
The Guys were in New Orleans for Tales of the Cocktail 2012 and went for a tour of Old New Orleans Rum because they were fans of the products and were invited for a visit.
“We are a true craft distillery. We start with raw materials. There's probably about a thousand gallons in this tank right in front of us. It's Louisiana blackstrap molasses. It comes from about 90 miles up the road. And that's what we start with. We start from scratch and we ferment and distill here in the facility. We're an old school production facility in the way it was done hundreds of years ago,” Eric Lukow on The Restaurant Guys Podcast 2012
