Rev. Rebecca Blake continues our summer sermon series on "Unfiltered Faith: Peter's Journey with Jesus" with a sermon on Matthew 14:22-33 from July 12, 2026. Many readers of this story have struggled with Jesus' words to Peter after Peter walks on water toward Jesus and then sinks: "You of little faith, why did you doubt?" But what if that was not the admonition we think it was? What do learn about the character of God from the way Jesus immediately reaches out to save Peter when he was sinking?
