I have been blessed to have two dads: My biological dad who raised me from an infant to adulthood and a dad-in-law who taught me how to prepare for my senior years. Mr. Moss is a father-figure - in my life. He gives me love and acceptance. He shares his philosophies on life through his relationship with his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He gave me this letter on 5 September 2021. It is dated 16 October 1965. He was leaving a message and legacy for his two sons: Vincent and Irvin. Now, through this recording, his message will spread to others. Thank you Mr. Moss.

Adults say the darndest things! I am on my soapbox about the dumbest and the darndest things I hear coming from the mouths of some parents, grandparents and great-grandparents concerning COVID. I took a break from recording to assess if there is truly an old school family. During the break, I assessed families, conversations, and television to reach a conclusion. The conclusion I reached is that there is an Old School Family that I feel I can explain or describe.

I returned to Frank Chester Recreation Center to keep my promise to Lester Williams and the young men who wanted to participate in an interview. What I heard is not what I expected - not because of lack of intelligence, but transparency and wisdom. I was reminded of the stereotypes of being young that developed my defenses today. Thanks to Kejuan and Jahshua. They are in my prayers.

I really enjoyed this episode with Lester Williams at Frank Chester Recreation Center in Columbus, Georgia. Lester is a native of New York and “implant” in Columbus. Following this interview, Lester recruited some young patrons, in the center, to become future participants to be heard. I am all for it.

Wow! Lade Breez came in and dropped some valuable golden nuggets in this episode! I never thought about how the constant impact of African-American life and struggles to be treated with equality and dignity could cause post traumatic syndrome for an entire group of people. Most of us wake up, each day, putting on an exterior of armor to protect our inner being and relationship with God. Lade Breez dropped a powerful message.
