This episode is a personal analysis of the evolution of maturity and understanding I have received from listening to the episodes and placing those events into timelines of American history.

In this episode, I decided to take the messages that were shared with me and present them as vicarious conversations and visits. I have enjoyed all conversations.

For years, I have watched African American families throw away history by trashing ancestral furniture, pictures, paintings and other items of value. This episode analyzes the value of the “Old School House” and the timelines of history the pictures, photo albums, stereos, clothes and furnishings brought to the family and neighborhood. The “Old School Houses” preceded the museums and other institutions. What a revelation!!

This episode examines why I speak of Old School. It is intended to cause one to remember how relationships were built and maintained.

This episode is all about children being children. How did interact with the little boys and girls in your neighborhood, school, and classrooms? Do you remember the love licks, the denials, your first kiss, your girlfriends and boyfriends? What was the best line you have ever used or heard (other than mine)?

This episode has to do with exercising your Individual freedom to design your style of fashion without the pressure of wearing name brands. We wore what we had and kept them clean, ironed, and or starched.

Old School was a period that validated Blacks/African Americans as a race and ethnic group; it signified us as a culture; and United us as a people in search for human and civil rights. As we fought for civil rights - we failed to openly state human rights which was at the core of Black Lives Matter. Old School is a history and a generation that lived at the crossroads of the past and the future.

House parties were the Facebook and Instagram of our time because they provided an environment for socializing to include dancing and dating. The black community was at its closest relationship during that generation. Roll back the rug and move all those tables and chairs.

This is another “I remember when” episode that is focused on how close families, neighborhoods, communities, and people (in general) were during Christmas holidays.

This episode provides some insight into how I viewed the church as a young child. I remember going to Sunday school before service and saving some of the money my parents gave me for offerings to spend at the church at the corner of the block. It was all good.
