Old School Thoughts

This episode talks about rallying for support during the Coronavirus pandemic.

This episode gives a shout-out to all the father and mother figures who stepped-up to provide mentoring as an extension to what you received from your parents, uncles, aunts, cousins, and grandparents.

This recording was prompted by a conversation I had with a 30-year-old young man about two strangers meeting for the first time.

This episode covers a variety of events that lead to Old School being assessed by class and status. Did we play with the same toys? Did we eat the same foods? Did we all have to make do with what we had? What are your thoughts?

I wanted to leave the listeners with a thought of how we kept our teeth during the time that we were exposed to so much sugar from sugar canes and candy. I drifted into making due with what we had - as well.

This episode is a personal analysis of the evolution of maturity and understanding I have received from listening to the episodes and placing those events into timelines of American history.

In this episode, I decided to take the messages that were shared with me and present them as vicarious conversations and visits. I have enjoyed all conversations.

For years, I have watched African American families throw away history by trashing ancestral furniture, pictures, paintings and other items of value. This episode analyzes the value of the “Old School House” and the timelines of history the pictures, photo albums, stereos, clothes and furnishings brought to the family and neighborhood. The “Old School Houses” preceded the museums and other institutions. What a revelation!!

This episode examines why I speak of Old School. It is intended to cause one to remember how relationships were built and maintained.

This episode is all about children being children. How did interact with the little boys and girls in your neighborhood, school, and classrooms? Do you remember the love licks, the denials, your first kiss, your girlfriends and boyfriends? What was the best line you have ever used or heard (other than mine)?
