A RERUN FROM JUNE 16, 2022. Imagine Christianity minus the entertainment shows, the hypocrisy, and the jockeying for positions of power within the complex network of denominational organizations. What would Christianity look like minus every man-made rule and human tradition imposed these last 2000 years of church history? What would be left is the original, simple, pre-denominational, pre-Catholic Christianity that our panel, Lauren Bassford, Colleen O’Steen, Ila King, and Cindy Dunagan, will be discussing in this program.
In July of 2020, Cindy and her husband Mark tossed their big white cat, Bella, in their big black class B van and set out on a quest to visit and encourage 100 conservative churches of Christ around the country. As they traveled, they shared God’s truths with the souls we met, gave away copies of Cindy's book Your Fresh Start at every opportunity, gathered Biblically sound, inspiring ideas for growing the Kingdom of Heaven then shared those ideas within the stories of their travels on their blog NomadsYouAndi.com --- stories that are on track to be soon published in a book called 100 Churches later this summer.
About midway through those travels, Florida College invited Cindy to come share some of the inspiring highlights of their journey for the women attending the 2023 Florida College Lecture Series entitled "A Life Worthy of The Gospel." Cindy's specific lecture was entitled "Together Building God's Most Luminous Temple: A Nomad's Encouraging Observations After Visiting 100 churches of Christ."
Note: this is pre-recorded and there are some audio issues at times.
In this program, Cindy returns to consider with Ila the Biblical principles that should be considered when choosing our goals, what Biblical virtues are instrumental in knowing how best to conduct ourselves while striving for a goal, and the little and big goals they’ve personally found fulfillment in pursuing.
OWL’s Wise Older Women panel will talk about how a woman’s identity is connected with her family, her work, her parents and her husband. Who is she without them? How can she reclaim her own identity if/when they are gone? How does God’s word address these concerns?
