Each year, the shepherds at Oldham Lane update the congregation on all the good work that has happened over the past year, highlighting all the people involved in making it happen, as well as all the new and exciting things ahead in the coming year.

The Good Shepherd keeps us safe from those who would kill and destroy us, and not only that, but provides life to all who would accept it.

Wouldn’t it be great if we could make time our friend instead of our enemy?  We can’t change the time we are allotted. However, a Biblical view of our allotted time promotes the abundant life that God wants us to enjoy.

Jesus is the door that allows us to have life and have it abundantly.

A new year means those dreaded new years resolutions... This isn't to say I don't have great respect for those who set goals and achieve them. I do. But the reality is we make these resolutions and often fail to stay true to them.

But what if we, as the Lord's church, resolved to be something more?

Jesus is the light of the world, the objective source of truth from God, who reveals to us the path to life everlasting.

We spend our days filling our spiritual stomach with things that only satisfy temporarily, but Jesus, as the bread of life, can fill our spiritual stomach with enduring food that never fades.

The birth of Jesus finally arrives, and does so without any great or bold moments, but rather takes place in a humble way. Our Lord is born in humble means, embodying those he came to save: the lowly, the poor, and the humble.

Who are we as Christians? What do we believe? Are we ready to give an account? In order to be ready for these questions, we need to know what beliefs form the foundation for who we are.

God is visiting, and at the birth of John, his father Zechariah’s speech is restored so that he can tell us all about the powerful horn of salvation that will melt away the shadow of death and expose the pathway of peace.
