God is in control and Jesus is the solution. Because of this WE WIN! The story of God’s people ends in victory! Before any beginning began, Jesus was. And, after every ending ends, Jesus will be.

Membership is not about having your name on the roster. Membership is about a function to perform. Church membership is functioning membership. It means that we are all necessary parts of the whole.

Church isn’t a place. It’s a people. Church isn’t an organization.. It’s an organism.

When Jesus came, He eliminated the need for one temple in a single location. Now there are many temples. Instead of a temple, we have the church.

Israel would not have argued with the concept of the Messiah being the chief cornerstone. They understood this to be true. The problem was with Jesus claiming to be the Messiah. He wasn’t what they were looking for; therefore, in their watching and waiting for the deliverer, they stumbled right over the one who met all the criteria.

God’s people are different than the rest of the world. They are a chosen and royal people, a holy nation belonging to him because he has called us out of darkness. God calls and welcomes all people into his wonderful light.

In this lesson, we’ll look at who Jesus is as we look in Mark 6 when people in his hometown did not believe in him. We’ll ask ourselves, “What do you say about Jesus?”

Hope is a vision of a better tomorrow. There’s something ahead, something around the corner, something in sight that’s better than what we’re currently dealing with. And that hope should change us.

We are kingdom citizens living in exile. One day Jesus will lift the exile and take us home. Until then, we live like Christ in a world that so desperately needs some good news.
