Hebrews 12:11 says, "No discipline is enjoyable while it is happening—it’s painful! But afterward there will be a peaceful harvest of right living for those who are trained in this way." Every day we awake and make choices in our lives. In our mind lies a continuous battle between right and wrong, and while externally we may present ourselves as holy, internally we may be struggling with issues invisible to others. However, we serve a God who loves us enough to correct us when we've lost our way. And because of this, those internal issues do not have to rule our hearts. With God's help we can make a concrete decision to change our minds and let go of our old ways. And although this disciplinary season will not be pleasurable, remember it is always working for your good.

2 Timothy 1:7 says, "For God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind." Every day our minds are exposed to the various aspects of the world. What our eyes see and what our ears hear have a very strong effect on the person we are. However we are all equipped with the spirit of self discipline which aids us against the desires of the world. More importantly we need to have a filter on our minds to block out the many negative distractions. Remaining in His word daily and removing yourself from negativity allows God to transform you into a new person for Him. Then you will learn how to remain Disciplined Through Distractions.

1 Timothy 4:7-8 says, "But refuse profane and old wives' fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness. For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come." We must exercise in the word of God and remain in His presence so that we may find ourselves 'Fit For The Kingdom'. Ephesians 4:11-12 says, “And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.” God wants to use the position you are in to serve other people. In order to reach the people, however, there should be a desire to change lives. This desire requires us to raise up devoted followers of Christ and to release people to do the work of the ministry. Although there will be opposition and the enemy will try to discourage you from the burden of equipping others, have the Faith to Finish. You cannot do this work alone and you should not try carry the weight alone. Teamwork gives you the support you need and equips you so that you are able to equip others to do the work of the Lord.

It is important for us to understand that the words we speak have power. They have the ability to build us up but also tear us down. Proverbs 18:20-21 says, "A man's belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled. Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof." Whatever situation you're going through God wants you to know you're going to get through it with the power of proclamation, praise, and prayer. But first ask yourself, What kind of fruit are you eating?

The love of God can reach out and find those who are lost no matter what, when, or how you got to where you are. No matter how far you stray, which direction you take, or what problems you make He loves you enough to restore you. When you give your life to Him, where you were once dead in your sins, you are now alive in the Father’s love.
