Olivia's Obscura

This week, Olivia gives her reviews of some movies she's watched recently (Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Mad Max: Fury Road, The Killing of a Sacred Deer, and Promising Young Woman), touches on the Barbie movie Oscars discourse, and offers her take on the TikTok trend cycle and the alleged Mob Wife style trend. She ends the episode by chatting about aging, death, and her desire to someday upload her consciousness to an alternate reality à la San Junipero - cheers!

(Editor's Note: I was using a new mic for the first time today and I was sitting way too close, so please excuse any popping sounds! I learned my lesson, what doesn't kill me makes me stronger, and I'll be back next week with the crispiest cleanest audio you could imagine. Xoxo - Olivia)

Happy New Year, Obscuraheads! Today, Olivia starts off the episode with a bit too much vulnerability regarding her own insecurities after a bad TikTok scrolling bender, questions whether being selfish is the worst thing a woman can be in this world, and definitely sheds a few melodramatic tears. She also ushers us into 2024 by reading aloud her diary entries from fifth grade through the end of high school- this episode is all over the map and you won't want to miss it!

In an even more casual and under-researched format than usual (I didn't even know it was possible) we have a loosey goosey discussion about 'Saltburn' starring Barry Keoghan and Jacob Elordi. From the secret house it was filmed in to the infamous bathtub scene to Jacob Elordi's eyebrow piercing, I think this movie has something for everyone.
