  • Hive OpenMic Week 318 //We Hail The Lamb// cover by @oluthomas
Welcome to my blog fam. I hope you all are having a great day and enjoying the weekend.
For this week, we were given a theme to sing in connection with, and I decided to sing a cover by Pastor Chris Delvan titled We Hail the Lamb, We Hail the Lion.
While thinking of the song to perform, this particular song came strongly into my spirit to minister. Thank God there was light, and immediately I switched on the keyboard and started singing to get the flow and movement, which eventually came together beautifully. And here it is.
Who is the Lamb of God? In simple terms, Jesus is the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. As the Lamb of God, Jesus carries the attributes of a lamb — peaceful, calm, soft, harmless, pure, meek, and gentle in spirit. These are some of the beautiful attributes of Jesus, and there are many more.
There were many situations while Jesus was on earth that could have made Him overreact, but He was deeply rooted in the Spirit with great discernment. He always knew how to handle every situation. Imagine being treated badly and still asking God to forgive those responsible because they did not know what they were doing. Very few people possess that kind of humility.
Thank you so much for stopping by. I pray we all have a gentle and calm spirit so people can feel free, safe, and comfortable around us.
    Remain blessed, friends.

  • Hive Music Festival Week 187 Round 1 //I Choose the way of the Lord// by @oluthomas
Good day everyone, welcome to my blog. I honour you for stopping by to experience a new and fresh dimension of my singing, and I believe you will never regret your decision.
I sang a cover by Theophilus Sunday titled I Choose the Way of the Lord. This song basically talks about the path we choose in this life. There are many ways and many paths, but which one have you chosen? Joshua said, “As for me and my family, we will serve the Lord.” I don’t know about you, but as for me, I choose the way of the Lord. Everyone is left with the choice to decide who they want to follow.
It is not compulsory for you to follow the way of the Lord, but when you carefully look at all the ways available, which one do you truly think is the best? For me, the way of the Lord Jesus Christ is the best and most complete way. It is the road that leads to wisdom, and that is why I choose the way.
I was conversing with a guy and he told me something that struck me deeply. He said he doesn’t believe in the way of the Lord anymore because he is tired of waiting so long without results, while others take shortcuts to get what they want quickly. Honestly, I was speechless for a moment because there are ways that may seem easy and wide to follow, but the end of those ways is destruction.
Some of the things he was thinking of doing involved defrauding people, venturing into unclean practices, or trying illegal things just to get quick results. He simply wanted to feel among the other guys. But I told him that not everything comes fast. Some riches take time, and when you get wealth the right way, you will enjoy it with peace of mind and boldly tell others exactly what you did to earn it.
That was how I encouraged him to stay strong and continue on the right path because, at the right time, everything will align. As long as he is not lazy and keeps showing up daily, the universe will surely reward his efforts.
I’m leaving us with these words:
“The more you believe and keep trying, the more you are bound to see results someday.”
Thank you so much for your time. Remain blessed fam.

  • AfriTunes Week 218 cover of //Hunger// by @oluthomas
Hey friends of Hive, welcome to my page.
My name is @oluthomas, and you are warmly welcome. What a privilege and honour it is to be among the living. All thanks to God for His protection and safety.
For AfriTunes Week 218, I did a cover of Hunger by Theophilus Sunday, a gospel minister from Nigeria. This is a deep spiritual song that talks about our hunger for God. Some people truly had a strong hunger for God, but along the line they grew cold and their love for Him faded.
No matter what you are going through in life, don’t allow your love for God to grow cold. It is just like when humans naturally feel hungry, and suddenly a person no longer feels hunger again. Whether they eat or not, they still feel okay. At that point, something is wrong and medical attention is needed to avoid further complications.
In the same way, if you were once on fire for God, feeding on His word, having fellowship and intimacy with Him, but later backslid, then this song is for you. Cry unto the Lord to restore your hunger for Him once again.
Thank you very much for taking your time to go through my post. I am forever grateful. One love, fam ❤️

  • Hive Music Festival Week 186 Round 3 //Casting 👑/ cover by @oluthomas
Hey friends of Hive, you are welcome to my blog. I am @oluthomas.
For Week 186, Round 3 of the Hive Music Festival weekly prompt, I sang a cover by Pastor Nathaniel Bassey titled Casting Crowns.
In this world, everyone is a star in their own way. By “star,” I mean that we all carry hidden potential inside us, and that uniqueness makes each of us special in diverse ways. Everyone is a king in his own way, and if we agree that everyone is a king, then we can also agree that every king has a crown that serves as a symbol of identity and authority.
However, there are kings that are greater than others. That is why some leaders appear more powerful than others in the world today. But above every king, there is one Supreme King whom we all must surrender to. We all need to lay our crowns down before Him.
The song I sang talks about casting down our crowns before the Mighty God, because He alone deserves to wear the crown in moments of worship and praise. There are men who think they can compare themselves to Him, but they all end up disappointed. This God has never struggled to be at the top because no one can dethrone Him. He is old and ancient, yet He can never die. He remains the same forever. What a powerful God we serve.
Indeed, this is a song of worship to God and total submission to His Majesty. This song also happens to be one of my favorite gospel songs.
A special thank you to everyone who will stop by to listen and read through my post. May the peace of the Lord dwell in you, and may you find favor in all you do.
Thank you all, and God bless.

  • AFRITUNES WEEK 217 COVER OF MAI GIRMA/THE HIGHEST BY SOLOMON LANGE
Hello friends of hive, welcome to my blog. What a privilege and honour to be alive today and to survive in today's world. That the economy of the world is so harsh and many individuals are striving to survive and to make ends meet. But what I always have in mind is the assurance and hope in Christ. In all these things we are more than conquerors, so we are a kind of humans that conquerors cannot be tempered with because we are more than them.
For this week 217 of the Afritunes weekly event I sang a Hausa/English song from a well known artist from Nigeria by name Solomon Lange. He sang both in English and Hausa. Mai Girma means the biggest or the highest. Our God is the highest God on earth, there are other gods but they cannot be compared to Him. He owns the whole world in His hands and knows the heart of all men. He decides who lives and who dies.
I sang this song because He has been faithful to me and he has been fighting my battle, despite my limitations and shortcomings God has been faithful. For that let's give God the glory for His worthy and He deserves to be praised and honored.
Remain blessed as you watch, like and reblog. Love you all.

  • Hive Music Festival Week 178 Rond 1 //Baruch Hashem// cover
Hello friends of Hive, welcome to my blog. My name is @oluthomas, and I am truly grateful for life. Life itself is something worth celebrating because many have gone back to the Creator.
For Week 178, Round 1, I did a cover of a song by Dunsin Oyekan. The song was released about 7 days ago. It is a very beautiful song, and there are two words in it that are not in English: “Baruch Hashem,” which means Blessed be the name of the Lord. I really enjoyed the melody of the song and also its progression.
Songs like this one are very good for the soul because of what is happening around the world today. It seems like the rich are getting richer while the poor are becoming poorer. Everyone is searching for a place where they can have peace of mind. I have noticed that peace of mind and inner joy are very important. Any other thing you are pursuing in life that has the tendency to take your peace away forever is better not to have. Because what is plenty of money if I cannot enjoy it in peace?
Notwithstanding, not having money can also take away one’s peace of mind. People always like the part that talks about being rich, but how about being poor? If you remain poor, there are challenges that may arise which you should be able to fix with money, but you cannot because you don’t have it. That alone can take away someone’s peace of mind and in some cases may even lead to death. However, sounds or songs like this one can comfort and relax the mind.
So just as it is good to work hard and make money, it is also important to discover what gives you comfort so you can run to it whenever you need it.
Thank you very much for taking your time to go through my post. May the Lord reward us all.

  • Hive Open Mic Week 306 //Open The Eyes of my Heart// cover
Mask simply means covering the face. Most times, when someone covers their face, it is either because they don’t want their real identity to be known or for reasons best known to them. There are many meanings attached to masks. They can be used to carry out both good and evil agendas. Some masks are visible, while others are not.
But I want to take us to another dimension of masks.
Many people wear a smiling face not because everything is fine, but because they are dying inside. The mask they choose to put on makes it look like they are perfectly okay. A mask can cover your real identity and hide your true feelings. Sometimes, even women who want to get married try to “cover” their real selves just to be accepted.
That is why I sang a cover of the song *Open the Eyes of My Heart* because beyond the physical masks, we need our inner eyes opened to see what is truly going on within us and around us.

  • Afritunes Week 205 //Komi Na Naka Ne/My All Belongs to You// cover by @oluthomas
Good friends of Hive, I welcome you to my blog. My name is @oluthomas, and it’s been a while since I last posted on Hive due to one or two reasons best known to me.
I want to appreciate our great community facilitators for their relentless efforts to ensure the community remains functional and in good shape. Hive would have been boring without your effort and your ability to see the good in this platform. I give the team their flowers, from the admins to everyone contributing to the growth of the community. Much respect to you all.
I cannot forget the community members. A community without members is not worthy to be called a community. Therefore, I want to celebrate the members for their continuous support in ensuring that the community remains active and functional. With a grateful heart, I say a big thank you to all the community members.
For this week, I did a cover titled Komi Na Naka Ne (My All Belongs to You), a song written and sung by Nene Olajide from Nigeria. She is exceptionally good and ministers powerfully at Dunamis Church of God here in Nigeria. This is one of her songs that cannot easily leave the lips of people because of the weight of God’s glory in it.
I sang this song to testify of God’s goodness and provision, to let Him know that there is nothing I have gained by my own power, everything is from divine intervention and grace that enables me to do and undo. I want to specially appreciate Him for His goodness, which is real, and I will keep testifying. Glory and honor to His holy name.
Thank you very much for stopping by. I love and celebrate you all richly.
Lyrics for Yeshua By Nene Olajide
You never fail me and no matter what I go through
You never fail me and Your word is Yeah and Amen
You never fail me and Your Love is real and Crystal clear
    You purify my destiny
    Amplify my melody
    Who am I, oh Lord
    That You’re mindful of me
What am I, oh Lord that You care so much for me
    Who am I, oh Lord
    That You’re mindful of me
What am I, oh Lord that You care so much for me….
    Chorus]
    Komai na, naka ne
    Komai na naka ne
    Komai na, naka ne

  • Hive Music Festival Week 173 Round 1; Rendition of Yah by Dunsin Oyekan
Hello friends of Hive, welcome to my blog. My name is @oluthomas.
The crypto space at the moment is not smiling with anyone, and some of us that invested a little in it, the dip decided to swallow our investment. But I want to appreciate God that it wasn’t my house rent or school fees that I invested. Crypto alone is already making my heart beat very fast 😅. But no panic, everything will be fine.
For this week’s entry, I did a cover of a song by Minister Dunsin Oyekan, a great gospel singer and songwriter. The song is titled “Yah”, which is a name of God. From the lyrics of the song, he was communicating how he entered into certain dimensions in the realm of the spirit and asked the Lord what name truly fits Him, and the Lord told him Yah.
When I listened to the song, I began to ask myself questions like: what are the requirements for someone to hear God this accurately and boldly say out the name without doubting it? I said to myself, there must be something these men know that I am not yet aware of. There is a dimension of knowledge they are opened to.
One funny thing is that not all knowledge is found in textbooks. Some knowledge is a product of personal experience. As we grow, we are opened up to the realities of heaven, just like the way Jesus taught His disciples how to pray, telling them that the kingdom of God needs to come and that they should live heaven here on earth.
For one to achieve such a thing, you need to have a close relationship with your Maker, spend time meditating on His Word, and allow Him to find expression through you and me. By doing this, we begin to touch certain dimensions of His glory and walk in deep wisdom and understanding.
I fear the depth of knowledge the late Myles Munroe operated in before he left this world. It was one of a kind. Till today, I am still looking for such a dimension, and I have not seen anyone like that yet. But such wisdom and knowledge are not built overnight; they are products of commitment, consistency, constant study, and trusting divine beings to reveal mysteries that are beyond the human realm.
This is my prayer for every one of us; that the Lord will open our ability to access deeper and higher realms of knowledge, wisdom, and understanding.
Thank you so much for stopping by and for taking time to read my post.
    Remain blessed 🙏

  • Hive Music Community //Yeshua// by Folabi Nuel cover by @oluthomas
Hey friends of Hive, welcome to my blog. My name is @oluthomas. Thank you for stopping by.
I did a rendition of Yeshua by Folabi Nuel. Today, I was just sitting quietly, thinking about life and reflecting on how things have been going. Sometimes I ask myself, whenever I have problems, who do I really run to? At times I feel like going to my parents, but they are not always capable of giving me what I want. Sometimes I consider my friends, church, or relatives, but they also are not capable of giving me what I want.
And sometimes, what I want at that moment is not money. It’s emotional support, someone who can truly hear me. But often, no one can, except the voice of the Spirit that whispers to me.
I have tried communicating my problems to many people, but the end result is always something else. Either I hear things I’ve heard before, or they start giving advice that doesn’t really take me anywhere in life.
But thank God for God, for always giving me a listening ear. He does not mind my limitations or shortcomings. He is always there to see me through and guide me on the path eternal. When I call in times of trouble or sorrow, He is my comfort. When I am in need, He makes a way where there seems to be no way.
All thanks to God for His goodness. It is real. He never sleeps nor slumbers, and He never gets tired of hearing my cry when I call on Him. His name is a strong tower; anyone who runs to Him is saved.
Thank you very much for stopping by, and I hope you enjoyed my entry. Blessings, fam.
