Honored to host one my of favorite dj/producers, the legendary @miles-maeda!

OMAKASE, episode 90b

Airdate: 3/19/2017

DJ: MILES MAEDA (Zendaze, Tokyo)

Miles Maeda began his DJ career in 1988 spinning records for college radio. A classically trained musician as well as practicing yogi, he brings a unique perspective and approach to his music. On the outside, his style is a well balanced blend of Chicago house. On the inside, it is crafted with musical intricacies which have become his trademark.

Living in Chicago in the early 90’s, he worked alongside his fellow nu-ravers Derrick Carter, Mark Farina and Spencer Kincey as a purveyor of new electronic dance music. He held residencies at Smartbar, Berlin as well as the legendary Shelter. Miles later moved to San Diego to study yoga and meditation, infusing his practice with his musical productions. He eventually combined these plethora of activity and began developing educational projects and teaching around the globe.

Miles is currently enjoying his residency in Tokyo, and continuing the development of his yoga projects.

Catch him in the flesh, at Future House Spring Sessions [los angeles] April 8th, 2017. More info @ http://omakaseshow.com/blog/season-7/future-house-spring-sessions-april-8th/

Great mix of proper techno from dj/ producer @israel-vines

OMAKASE, episode 90a

Airdate: 3/19/2017

DJ: ISRAEL VINES (Eye Teeth, Los Angeles)

Israel Vines is from literally everywhere. Having spent formative rave years in Detroit, working at Gramaphone in Chicago, he now lives and works in Los Angeles.

He first made an impact with his label Borrowed Language, doing a number of split EPs and collaborations with Jeff Pietro, where the two created a strange combination of thunderous Birmingham Techno and modern Bass Music.

To date, Vines has remixed Erika, Makaton, and Stave with releases on Cult Figures, Semantica, Horizontal Ground [in collaboration with Chicago artist Kit Gearyas as KGIV] and most recently on Interdimensional Transmissions' new sub-label, Eye Teeth.
