Hey guys, welcome back to the podcast. It's been a minute. Actually, it's been like 2 minutes. All will be explained in due time, but for now, let's just act like nothing happened :).
This episode is a prelude to the new season. An side-episode if you must.
Our host Thuita had a chance to sit down with O.N.D.U. Street Lawyer from the Back-2-Basics Podcast, and reminisce about artists and bands that are missing from the Kenyan music scene.
Hope you enjoy.
This project is funded by Goethe-Institut, the GIZ and Jenga CCI. Special Appreciation to the Africa Digital Media Institute.

Happy New Year, never mind that we are four months into 2019.
On this episode of the Omenerds Podcast, we talk about how far into the year we should stop wishing each other a Happy New Year.
New Year’s resolutions are a thing we forget about this far into the year, and we chat about our resolutions and what we think about the whole idea of marking a new year by making promises to ourselves.
Jimmy gives a history lesson as well, delving deep into the lost traditions of manly pleasures with a new conspiracy theory.

More than just adult funkies, music festivals have become a staple of the Nairobi entertainment scene, providing a much-needed space for artist growth and socially acceptable day drinking. On this episode we're joined by the one and only Muthoni the Drummer Queen (singer, songwriter, creator of Blankets & Wine and Africa Nouveau) and long-time collaborator Sandra Chege (Arts: programs and communication manager at British Council) veterans who... take us behind the scenes of two highlights of the festival calendar: Africa Nouveau and the (pretty much) iconic Blankets & Wine.
Join us as we chat about challenges of putting on a show in Nairobi, the necessity of tentacles in hentai , and of course the key question: will Thuita *ever* stop buffering?

There is one thing that is constantly at the back, front, around and finally always on our minds, MONEY. We are all just out here trying to make more of it with side hustles and salos, tenderpreneurship and thrifting. When we do finally make some of it, well, tunaendelea tu kujaribu, it never feels like it is enough or worse still, there always seems to be more month at end of the money.

So no one told you life was gonna be this way. Your job's a joke, you are broke, your love life's D.O.A. It's like you're always stuck in second gear, when it hasn't been your day, your week, your month, or even your year.

On the fourth episode of Omenerds podcast, we try figure out our personal interpretations of the “Kenyan Dream” or if it is in fact an actual Kenyan nightmare from which there is no waking up. We were also joined by Mugambi Nthiga, an award wining Kenyan actor, director, writer and Sallinder Nyawira from Rescue BnB, a community seeking to map, match and connect those in need of help with those willing to volunteer, provide sustenance and support following Kenya’s August & October 2017 Elections. It was “created” on 2 am on Saturday, 12th August when Sallinder Nyawira tweeted an offer to house anyone who was in need of a place to stay due to security concerns, to contact her. Over 24 hours, it grew and now has a core team of 10 personnel managing various administrative functions, as well as 100’s of volunteers in Kibra, Kawangware, Dandora, Mathare, Siaya, Kisumu and online.
