The mystery of Advent speaks to that waiting. Not just the waiting for a
holiday, but that longing for something more, something better than this we
currently inhabit. A world made new. The good news of the gospel is that we can
wait with confidence, because that’s the world promised in Jesus Christ.
Throughout the season, we explore the Servant Songs of the Book of Isaiah and
the unique way they point us to the Messiah who has come in Jesus and is coming
again to make all things new, fulfilling the deepest longing of our hearts.
Our prayer is that as we do, Jesus will meet us in our weakness and our waiting – our longing! — and together we will discover afresh the God who is both with us and for us.
