Traveling opens us up to new experiences that simply cannot be learned in a classroom or textbook. You will never be more care-free, more open-minded, with the most to gain and the least to lose than in your 20s. Once we enter our careers, start a family, and settle down, traveling usually becomes a distant thought. The notion that we should wait until we are 65 to finally travel is unrealistic; for one, we might not even live that long. We might develop health issues that prevent us from traveling. And even if we are able to travel at the ripe age of 65, we are simply not as spry or go with the flow as we were when we were in our 20s. There is a massive difference between traveling around in an RV or on a cruise ship at the age of 65 and hostel-hopping around Europe, living out of a backpack and working with a tight budget in your twenties. Your 20s are about getting outside of your comfort zone, experiencing new things, and meeting interesting people, and frankly I can't think of a better way to do all of those things than traveling.
