  • How Tapping Calms Anxiety And Resets Your Nervous System

    Send us Fan Mail

Stress can hijack your brain in seconds, and “just think positive” rarely helps when your body is stuck in fight or flight. I sit down with Carol Look, a licensed psychotherapist, founding EFT master, and longtime leader in Emotional Freedom Techniques, to break down what tapping actually is, why it looks a little weird, and why it can feel like a nervous system reset when you do it correctly.

We talk through the mind-body connection behind EFT tapping, including how pairing a real problem with tapping on acupuncture points can send calming signals through your system. It's an episode you won't want to miss.

Subscribe and share this with someone who’s been feeling stuck and follow @officialdrpete for more practical life management tools.

  • How A Teen Skater Turned A Diagnosis Into A Movement

    Send us Fan Mail

A spine curve can change how you stand, how you move, and how you see yourself, especially when you’re a kid trying to do the sport you love. We’re joined by an unforgettable mother-daughter duo, Marta Eliza Miller and her mom, Corrina, to share what happened when Marta was diagnosed with scoliosis at 13 while pursuing competitive figure skating and suddenly had to face bracing, judgment from peers, and the terrifying question of whether skating would be taken away.

We talk through the real lived experience of adolescent idiopathic scoliosis: the mental load of wearing a brace, the pressure to “look normal,” and why scoliosis can be a hidden disability even when someone seems fine on the outside.

Then the story widens into something bigger. Marta and Corrina created the Marta Eliza Miller Foundation, which has raised more than $1M for scoliosis awareness and research and is now supporting programs across all 50 states and Puerto Rico.

  • How To Stop Trying To Fix Your Child And Start Healing Yourself

    Send us Fan Mail

Your kid isn’t a problem to solve, and you’re not a manager hired to optimize their life. We sit down with Dr. Shefali, Clinical Psychologist, New York Times Bestselling Author, and Founder of the Conscious Parenting Movement, to name the uncomfortable truth many parents feel but rarely say out loud: the strongest urge to control our children often comes from our own fear, our own ego, and the identity we’ve built around “being a good parent.”

We talk about how Dr. Shefali blends Western psychology and Eastern meditation to explain why childhood conditioning lasts for decades, and why traditional approaches so often focus on what’s “wrong” with the child. The bigger shift is learning to see every tense moment as a mirror, a front-row seat to your unconscious patterns. When we stop projecting unhealed baggage onto our kids, we stop robbing them of their essence, and we finally start breaking generational cycles instead of repeating them with new words.

We also dig into what children actually need most: presence. Not perfect schedules, expensive activities, or constant fixing, but real attention, radical acceptance, and the steady message that they are whole. We wrestle with modern distractions, technology, and why the same parenting principles feel harder now, plus the practical “blueprint” Dr. Shefali lays out in Raising Conscious Sons and Raising Conscious Daughters and where to find her upcoming tour dates.

If this conversation hits a nerve, that’s a sign it matters. Please follow, like and share @officialdrpete for more parenting content. You can learn more about Dr. Shefali here:
