On Assignment in the Night | Into The Night | December 14th, 2025

Listen Later

This Sunday we have over 40 baptisms. We don’t want to see that number and think it’s normal. What we’re seeing God do among us is special. We’re seeing a mass of people trust in Jesus for salvation and take significant steps of spiritual growth. We are not sure how long this season will last, but may we have much joy in our hearts, giving Jesus all the glory!

We will be in Acts 16, looking at two men who end up in jail for going to a prayer meeting and upsetting religious leaders. They are not in the night (spiritually speaking) because of sin or anything bad they did, but because God has them on an assignment. What if we saw our circumstances that way? What if God has us there to reach someone? What if our dark seasons were not about us? What a wild idea that is!

We will see that they save the man physically and spiritually. It’s a heavy passage, to be honest. They see he is about to kill himself, and Paul stops him. Satan attacks with self-harm, and there are so many silent sufferers today we must have eyes for. We will talk about that this Sunday. How do we see and help those who struggle with self-harm?

The result? He gives his life to Jesus, his family follows that decision, and he gets baptized. When men give their lives to Jesus, there is a significant chance the family follows. We will clarify the the who, what, where, and when of baptism and will give a call to those who need to take that next step as well.
