We interviewed Dr. Thomas J. Sims and spoke about his memoir titled, "On Call In The Arctic." Dr. Sims held us spellbound as he recalled some of the challenges he faced serving the population of Nome, Alaska, during the years of the Vietnam War. 

On the eve of being drafted into the Army to serve as a M.A.S.H. surgeon in Vietnam, Dr. Sims was offered a commission in the U.S. Public Health as the only physician in Nome under archaic conditions.
