With each new show at Boston College's McMullen Museum, the rooms are reconfigured—walls moved and painted, features such as alcoves built, a new lighting scheme designed. For the show Rural Ireland: The Inside Story, Diana Larsen, the museum's exhibition and collections manager/designer, spent some three weeks unpacking, inspecting, positioning, and polishing more than 135 pieces.

The exhibition, which was curated by Larsen and Irish studies professor Vera Kreilkamp, will remain on display until June 3.

Coming together from 17 states and three countries, 92 past and present members of the Bostonians, the University's oldest a capella group, gathered on campus on December 10 for a concert celebrating the ensemble's 25th anniversary. After a brief warm-up in an adjacent classroom, the performers moved to the well of a Devlin lecture hall where, in breakout groups of contemporaries or all together, they delivered a playlist of standards. Observed current Bostonians president Erin McKenna '12, "The mikes probably weren't necessary."

On December 6, two days before their Christmas Tidings concert filled the chapel in St. Mary's Hall, the 14-member Boston College Madrigal Singers donned 15th-century garb and crisscrossed the campus serenading University offices. Among their stops, captured on video, was the Student Programs Office (SPO) on the second floor of Maloney Hall. SPO provides assistance to more than 150 student organizations, including the Madrigal Singers.

Boston College's "Dancing with the Stars," paired eight representatives of student-run dance troupes such as Synergy and Phaymus with eight student leaders.

The teams practiced a 45-60 second dance and competed before a panel of judges—two alumni of Boston College dance groups and one member of the Student Programs Office—who scored them on criteria such as "synchronization and time" and "communication with crowd." Vanessa Gomez '13 (vice president of the UGBC senate) and Elizabeth Woods '13 of the Irish Dance Club step danced their way to a first-place finish.

In the dark of an autumn morning, the 34 cadets of the Boston College Army Reserve Officer Training Corps' (ROTC) Bravo Company assembled in the University's Rec Plex for 90 minutes of physical training (PT), as they do three times a week. The 25 men and 9 women, dressed in military-issue black shorts and grey t-shirts, were joined by some 20 friends and staff, there to take part in one of several PT sessions open to campus "civilians" during the school year.

Father Gasson returns to the hall named in his honor, August 25, 2011.

After being closed 26 months for interior and exterior renovations, Gasson Hall reopened in late August. One of the first items to return was a sculpture of the hall's namesake, Thomas I. Gasson, SJ (1859-1931). The 24-inch marble bust by an unknown artist honors the 13th president of Boston College (1907-14), who presided over the University's move from Boston's South End to the Heights and the construction of its first structure, known as the Recitation Building when it opened in 1913 and renamed in Gasson's honor in 1952. The five-and-a-half-foot tall, 600-pound sculpture was housed in Carney 147 during the renovations and now resides in Gasson 105.
