Details: In this episode of the podcast, hosts Ujjwal Grover, Rahul Bhaskar (Oranjee), and Abhishek Deshpande (Desi) discuss the 2003 World Cup. From the beginning of our podcast, we have been receiving a number of requests to cover this World Cup, making us wonder what was so special about it. Maybe it was Dada and his inspirational captaincy, or memories of Mandira Bedi. From India's superb bowling attack, to Kenya's similarities with Indian politics and their journey to the Semis, we will discuss all the happenings of the first World Cup in Africa. We will talk about Zaheer's disastrous first over and Australia's never ending assault in the Final, which was a game we probably lost in the first over.

They recall the window between 1996-1999, where Indian team registered many memorable wins in Sharjah and Toronto, their fascination with collecting Sourav Ganguly trump cards, and Tendulkar's ups and downs and captain. Coming back to the World Cup, they talk about India's mediocre performances, the pains of Hindi commentary, Zimbabwe's disruptive performances in group stages, and Australia's amazing comeback. Warne, Klusener, Geoff Allott, Warne, and Dravid- they also also remember some of the best individual performances in this World Cup.
