After escaping Georgia and making it through South Carolina, Cora finally reaches North Carolina. Cora thinks she's found refuge but this state is the worst possible place to be for a negro woman. Also, we talk about young Arnold Ridgeway and the creation of his legend.

Barry Jenkins (Moonlight, If Beale Street Could Talk) takes on the task of adapting Colson Whitehead's sprawling epic, Underground Railroad. Underground Railroad is a Pulitzer Prize-winning novel centered around two slaves by the name of Cora and Ceasar.   Although Underground Railroad was released all at once on Amazon Prime, we are doing two episodes at a time. We begin with the first two episodes entitled "Georgia" and "South Carolina".
