All things, on cultural identity. I explore three 'defining moments' in my life. All of which, highlight a serious need for change, a call to action. The question; What is your village in Samoa; prompting this train of thought. I am Samoan. Three simple words; but really when I dive a little deeper. These three words, I don't truly know what they mean. What does it look like to be Samoan? To be Samoan; I don't yet know anything, but I'm determined to find out. Discover the beauty that lies on the other side of my obedience to this call. The call for change. The call for action. Am I tired of being a foreigner to my own people.
Conviction came. It settled. It sits. It shall remain, until this girl decides to act. Act upon what she knows she must do. Venture into the unknown, to discover who she is. Who she was created to be. Two beautiful cultures, which have the ability to coexist in a way which both flourish.
