22Jun16 - Recently, our On The FinSide cohost Paul Picken, Jr sat down with Troy Drayton (Dolphins Manager of Youth and Community Affairs, former FinSiders Cohost and former Dolphins Tight End) and Ndidi Massay (Executive Director, Ross Initiative in Sports for Equality – RISE) to discuss the upcoming Dolphins Academy 7-on-7 tournament. The tournament takes place Friday-Sunday, June 24-26 beginning with a symposium on Friday evening at Nova Southeastern University and with the tournament itself taking place Saturday and Sunday at Central Park in Plantation.

This tournament is a great initiative that will be hosting over 1,000 student athletes, focusing not only on football, but also on life skills, education and so much more. 15Jun16 - On The FinSide continued it’s interview series in it’s ongoing relationship with the Miami Dolphins, sitting down to speak with Cornerback Chimdi Chekwa. Chimdi was drafted in the 4th round of 2010 by the Oakland Raiders following a successful collegiate career at the University of Ohio, and has spent his time in the NFL with the Raiders before bringing his talents to South Florida this year.

In speaking with Chimdi, we covered a number of topics including his time with the Raiders, his recent graduation with his MBA from the University of Miami this offseason, his expectations for the upcoming season and more.

Make sure that you follow Chimdi on Twitter to learn more about his Camp One initiative as he works to bring it to South Florida, as well as to follow his wife, Xia, for interesting “behind the scenes” perspectives on the NFL as she writes for NFL_WAGS.
