  • #18 On the Record Jams! #MobbDeep Shook Ones Part 2

On the Record Jams is back to talk Shook Ones Part 2 by the Queensbridge Duo, Mobb Deep. Havoc's production with Prodigy's immediate late 80's early 90's gathering around a barrell of fire lyrics heats up the New York scene where the flame remains lit. Mobb Deep's legacy is undeniable. Arthur and A.J. discuss the impact and context of this record that grabbed many of us by the windpipe and never let go.

    https://youtu.be/PQCw9FVuZVg?si=3UIcZ6pCJ8cnnneH

On the Record Jams is back to talk about the great Reverend Al Green. On episode 16 we are talking about the Record, "You Ought to Be With Me". The early 1970's was wide open and Al Green blended soul, R&B, vunerbility with a heavy dose of leading man energy, setting the tone for a whole new kind of standard. The episode goes into talking about not really remembering not knowing about Al Green and this record.
