Patrick Delices is a Pan-African scholar and public intellectual who taught the History of Haiti, Caribbean Politics, Black Politics, and African-Caribbean International Relations at Hunter College, Department of Africana and Puerto Rican/Latino Studies.
Patrick Delices served as a research fellow at Columbia University for the late, Pulitzer Prize historian Manning Marable and as a research assistant for Dr. Leonard Jeffries Jr., the former chairperson of the Department of Black Studies at the City College of New York.
During the winter of 2014, as part of the first African-American delegation to Western Sahara and as a valuable member of the Institute of the Black World, Pan-African Unity Dialogue, Patrick Delices visited Algeria and various Western Sahara refugee camps on a fact finding mission. Furthermore, Patrick Delices engaged in a research project and conference in Haiti during the fall of 2014 with Professor James Small and Mambo Asogwe Bayyinah Bello in honor of Emperor Jean Jacques Dessalines and the Haitian Revolution.
Patrick Delices has also visited and conducted research in the Dominican Republic, Cuba, Brazil, Chile, China, South Korea, Spain, Greece, Kenya, Tanzania, Zanzibar, and Egypt.
Currently, Patrick Delices is working on two research projects: a book about his father, Georges Chardin Delices, who is considered the greatest soccer legend in Haiti and another book regarding the global impact of the Haitian Revolution. Patrick Delices also published "The Digital Economy" in the Journal of International Affairs; "Cementing Scholarship with Service: Dr. Ben at the Foothills of the Mountains of the Moon Where the God Hapi Dwells" in the Journal of Pan-African Studies; "The African Origin of Haitian Vodou: From the Nile Valley to the Haitian Valleys" in the text Vodou in the Haitian Experience; "Oath to the Ancestors: The Haitian Flag is Rooted in Vodou" in the text Vodou in Haitian Memory, and “To Decolonize the World: Thomas Sankara and the ‘Last Colony’ in Africa” in the text A Certain Amount of Madness: The Life, Politics, and Legacies of Thomas Sankara.
Patrick Delices earned a BA in International Relations and Black Studies along with an MS in Educational Administration and Supervision from the City College of New York. Patrick Delices also earned an Ed.M in Higher Education Administration from Teachers College, Columbia University; an MBA in Quantitative Finance, Business Law, and Global Business from New York University, Stern School of Business; and an MPA in International Economics Policy and Management from Columbia University, School of International and Public Affairs. Moreover, Patrick Delices holds a certificate in Performance Measurement and Management from Harvard University, Kennedy School of Government; a certificate in Decolonial Studies from the Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona in Spain; and a certificate in Critical Islamic Theology and Muslim Liberation Studies from the Universidad de Granada in Spain.
