This season's focus on mental health continues as I'm rejoined at the table with the familiar voice of my friend and church leader of Antioch New Orleans, Dominique Houston. We discuss how capacity is tied to compatibility, our experiences navigating emotional literacy, and the importance of facing your lens of insecurity for the necessary healing that proceeds growth. We share how we are currently pursuing living from wholeness while navigating faith and the journey of setting healthy expectations in relationships. This episode focuses on two of the four topics of this podcast: mental health and faith.

Season 2 is here! This season's main focus will be on mental health leading into some big news. Joining me at the table to kick off this first episode is an incredible friend, mom, missionary, and Marriage & Family Therapist Heather Cowan. We meet at the table to discuss trauma and our journeys of learning how to both embrace and release emotion. We share the common and uncommon threads between our stories of navigating from depression to healing, fear to freedom, and how recovery begins in learning to live with tenderness.

For episode 7, family joins me at the table for a conversation about the liberating and mobilizing nature of surrender. Former defensive lineman for the UCLA Bruins, star of HBO's recently wrapped comedy series, Ballers and host of his own podcast, I'm Supposed To Be Here!!!!!!, Donovan Carter shares his journey of finding new dreams and possibilities in surrendering his plans and purpose to God. We share the practical ways we are navigating living in transition in 2021 and reflect on the joy, peace and preparation found in the embracing the journey of life.

The conversation on why leading with truth matters continues as I sit back down at the table with Sara Luttrell and Dominique Houston to discuss, reflect, and reckon with the thorough preeminence revealed in the dimensions of God. We share stories and practical ways we are navigating the unlimited ways to invite, encounter, and experience a limitless God. Episode 6 focuses on two of the four main topics of this podcast: faith and mental health. Also, this episode premieres on Feb 1st, 2021 so Happy Black History Month! Celebrate and educate!

Today, another incredible black women joins me at the table, Zania Kennedy, for a conversation centered around how tending to our roots as black people looks different as our capacity changes along with the seasons of life. We share reflections and insights into the benefits and redemptive purposes of both seasons in being the bridge and minding the gap as black people of faith. Episode 5 centers on three of the four main focuses of this journey: mental health, faith and race.

This episode is incredibly personal as it is a conversation for black women by black women. Two of my friends from high school, Dominique Houston and Sara Luttrell, join me at the table today to discuss why leading with truth matters. We share reflections, the common threads in our stories and practical ways we are navigating faith, mental health and living awakened to one's purpose, worth and power.

Invited some younger voices to the table today! They are young and wise, my blood, AND division one athletes! Siblings, Samirah and Kaleb Moody join me at the table for a conversation centered around the importance of consistency and accountability in leading an authentic life in a constantly changing world. We share reflections of why authenticity should compel one's intentionality in prioritizing one's faith, mental health, and in navigating your lane to advance racial equity and opportunity.

This journey continues with bringing to the table, a friend from undergrad. Lauren Garchow, a social worker for human trafficking victims and recent  graduate of USC's Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work, joins me at the table for a conversation centered on honor and what it means to belong in her line of work as a white woman, responsibly. We share personal reflections about getting uncomfortable as well as practical ways to engage with racial identity with humility as a guide.

This journey together begins with bringing my friend, minister, and director of Student Success at Biola University, Daniel Parham to the table for a conversation about the multilingual realities of being people of color (both black) and people of faith in today's culture. We share our raw reflections and practical ways we are navigating the space between the impact of current events and our internalization, all for the purpose of Kingdom building.
