On Topic, Off Script host Brian Mastroianni sits down with actor Mark-Paul Gosselaar.
Mark-Paul Gosselaar starred as Zack Morris in the late '80s and early '90s classic teen sitcom Saved by the Bell and went on to play a wide range of characters in everything from NYPD Blue to Franklin & Bash and most recently, Found. Now, he’s partnering with AstraZeneca for the launch of Meet Your Mark.
It’s a new awareness campaign that sheds light on how biomarker testing may guide one’s treatment following a cancer diagnosis. In a video for the campaign, he brings back some of Zack Morris’s fourth wall-breaking ‘time outs’ to encourage those living with cancer and their loved ones to take some time to learn more about cancer biomarker testing. Think of biomarkers as guideposts in the body — like genes and proteins — that, once measured through tissue or blood tests, can help your medical team better determine what’s going on with your health and lead you down a path to a more targeted, personalized treatment plan.
Mark-Paul discusses the importance of cancer biomarker testing, why Saved by the Bell is still popular today, remembers his late co-star Dennis Haskins, and when to look out for his new role in upcoming workplace comedy series Bulges.

On Topic, Off Script host Brian Mastroianni sits down with the one-and-only Molly Ringwald.
You know Molly Ringwald as the Gen X icon of classic '80s John Hughes films Pretty in Pink and Sixteen Candles, as well as more recent work in TV shows like The Secret Life of the American Teenager, Riverdale, Feud: Capote vs. The Swans, and in films like One Night Only, which came out earlier this year.
Right now, she’s partnering with Pfizer through PfizerForAll for the 'Living Through It All' campaign, encouraging others to prioritize wellness and be proactive about protecting against vaccine-preventible illness like pneumococcal pneumonia -- a potentially serious bacterial lung disease. Overall, pneumonia results in 1.2 million hospitalizations and leads to 41,000 deaths in the United States every year, according to the CDC. Those who are 50 or older are at an estimated six times greater risk for pneumococcal pneumonia than adults 18-49.
As we head into cold and flu season, Molly is using her platform to encourage others to head to VaxAssist.com to learn more about important respiratory vaccines. She sits down with Brian to discuss this awareness campaign, her incredible career — from Pretty in Pink turning 40(!), to recently performing on stage at Carnegie Hall. She also shares why she’s so excited to join the fourth and final season of Yellowjackets.

On Topic, Off Script host Brian Mastroianni sits down with the hosts of the podcast -- Inflammatory Breast Cancer WTF?! -- Zoe Tipler and Laura Drysdale.
In this special episode, Brian chats with two guests he knows quite well — his friend Zoe Tipler and her mother Laura Drysdale. This past spring, they launched a very personal podcast project of their own — Inflammatory Breast Cancer WTF?! The podcast’s name speaks for itself, it sheds light on how they’ve both navigated a surprise, serious, life changing diagnosis and how it’s affected their lives, giving a window to their experiences as both the person living with inflammatory breast cancer and a caregiver.
Earlier this year, at just age 36, Zoe was diagnosed with inflammatory breast cancer, a rare, aggressive form of breast cancer that’s mis and under diagnosed. Zoe and Laura are based in the UK and, there, inflammatory breast cancer accounts for about 1.8% of all breast cancer diagnoses. Here in the US, it accounts for anywhere between 1 and 5% of breast cancer diagnoses, contributing to 7% of breast cancer-caused mortality. It presents more commonly in younger women, and is diagnosed more frequently in Black women than their white peers.
Through their often vulnerable, frank -- but also funny! -- podcast episodes, Zoe and Laura open up about everything from that initial diagnosis to the wave of appointments, meetings with clinicians, and aggressive treatments that come with inflammatory breast cancer. They also touch on those quieter, mundane aspects of how cancer changes your life, upends routines, reorients your relationships and your day to day.

Peloton fans will know Anna for her connected, intimate, and affirming yoga, meditation and Pilates classes. They're designed to give expecting mothers safe, fun, accessible Pilates classes to enhance alignment on the journey to parenthood.
For Anna, this fits in with her desire to build community through movement. Anna joins Brian to discuss the new Pilates series, the power of community, and how healthy practices like yoga changed her life.
Looking back, Anna says yoga found her at a key moment when she was looking for perspective. She calls it a tool to "strengthen your relationship with yourself.” For her, that lesson was transformative. Now, she wants to share that with others.

On Topic, Off Script host Brian Mastroianni chats with Cory Lee, travel content creator and accessibility advocate.
Since 2013, Cory has built a wide-reaching travel platform through Curb Free With Cory Lee. It's a travel blog in which Cory, a wheelchair user who is a self-described “travel addict," has shared his journeys to all seven continents and more than 50 countries.
Diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) at two years old, Cory got his first powered wheelchair at age four, taking his first trip to Walt Disney World. From there, he has seen it all and now is partnering with Novartis on the campaign SMAshing My Limits...and Going Places, a project with North Carolina-based Becoming rentABLE, which is aiming to add about 100 new verified accessible short term rentals to the organization’s national network. For Cory, there is nothing more powerful than travel — seeing the world, meeting new people, and being immersed in different cultures.
It’s all about embracing the next destination.

On Topic, Off Script host Brian Mastroianni chats with Marit Molin, a licensed clinical social worker and the founder of Hamptons Community Outreach.
After she moved with her family to the Hamptons in 2015, Marit started to notice a gulf in experience between the affluent residents and visitors who flock to Long Island’s East End and those in the area facing poverty and housing insecurity. Many are year-round residents, service workers, laborers, and their families who help The Hamptons -- that picturesque coastal enclave -- function.
In 2018, Marit started the Hamptons Art Camp, accessible summer programming for underserved children in the area. In the years since, it grew into an expansive organization that has raised $11M over the past 8 years, renovated 70 homes, installed 25 heating systems, built 6 new homes, and supported 200 families every week through food outreach.
Marit touches on why this work is so vital, shares how others can give back, and discusses the power of community.

On Topic, Off Script host Brian Mastroianni sits down with Dr. Kerry Burnight. She's a gerontologist , speaker, and author, known nationally as “The Gerontologist.” As the leading voice on making “older better," Dr. Burnight has served as a professor in geriatric medicine for 18 years at the University of California, Irvine, she co-founded the first Elder Abuse Forensic Center. Last year, she released her book Joyspan: The Art and Science of Thriving in Life’s Second Half.
She joins On Topic, Off Script to discuss ways to reframe conversations around aging and longevity and present findings from the CenterWell Fulfillment Index – a national measure designed to capture what older adults believe truly defines what it means to age well.
Released earlier this year, it looks into what 6,600 older adults said marked health and well-being, pinpointing 12 specific life factors — think everything from financial security to spiritual gratitude — that shed light on how we can age with dignity.
For Dr. Burnight, growing old with joy and leading a fulfilled life is about rejecting toxic positivity and looking at aging through a realistic, clear-eyed lens. She says true joy comes from within.

On Topic, Off Script host Brian Mastroianni sits down with Jess Rothschild to discuss Season 2 of her documentary series Finding Fire Island.
For Pride Month, Brian welcomes back Jess Rothschild. They spoke last year about her docu-podcast Cult of Body & Soul, which explored the cultural phenomenon of SoulCycle. Now, she’s back with Season 2 of her GLAAD-nominated documentary series Finding Fire Island. It’s the first documentary of its kind to tell the history of Cherry Grove and The Fire Island Pines, the historic LGBTQ+ communities situated on Fire Island -- that thin barrier island just off the southern shore of Long Island.
While the first season offered a look at Fire Island as a whole, in this second season -- co-produced with The Pines Historical Society -- Jess wades into the history, lore, and very vibrant present of the Fire Island Pines, interviewing everyone from Billy Porter and John Waters to Julio Torres, Jay Jurden and DJ Lina Bradford to the people whose ties to Fire Island stretch back to the early days of how this small slip of sand stood as an oasis for gay New York in the mid-20th century. It would go on to become a hub of activism, music, fun, and above all, a place of belonging for the greater LGBTQ+ community today.
