“On Your Mark”

We all like being happy, or we should be. The problem is when we prioritize our now happiness over our overall wellbeing. Sometimes it is necessary and even vital to sacrifice now happiness for future growth, development and overall well being. It is because of this that God is more concerned with our holiness over our happiness. As we seek Him and grow in holiness being holy as He is holy, happiness becomes a permanent state of being making it less happiness and more joy. Let's discuss.

When does a system become obsolete? The short answer is when it no longer works. But often it is not that simple. Maybe it works, but not nearly as well or efficiently as the new system. As Christians, we have to be willing to grow, develop and innovate in order to operate effectively in this world. This doesn't mean abandoning Christ and His systems. On the contrary, it means staying with Christ and being willing to adapt and adjust when He updates or lays out new ways of operating. Don't get me wrong, He is not changing the Bible. However, things around us are changing and we have to be careful to stay with Him to learn to interact biblically. Systems don't deserve our loyalty, God does, and when he changes the system or gives a system update, we need to be growing, developing and innovating enough to follow Him.

Loyalty can be a rare commodity these days and you know what, perhaps it should be. Especially when loyalty is given to any and everything except the right thing. It is important as Christians that we offer our loyalties to God first and then allow everything else to be everything else. And this includes the church. For far too long many churches have operated on the people's loyalty while abandoning their loyalty to God. Well, it is time for the people to make sure that their loyalty is to God over a building a preacher a ministry or anything else. It means what it means! God is first, His directions are our desires. And any who don't like it...well that is their problem. Our loyalties will always be in the right place when they are first with God.

Where does your loyalty lie? Who holds the top spot in your life. I want to submit to you that unless the answer is God, your life is having more difficulty than it has to. it is so important to place people places and things in the right place in our lives. Otherwise, our lives will have undo difficulty. When it comes to people, that can be more difficult. In this podcast we discuss how placing people in their proper place and God in His rightful place will make all the difference in your life.

Work is a good thing...or at least it should be. Work was created and designed by God. It was God who gave Adam his task in the garden to work and keep it. So the problem is not work, but instead whom we work as unto. In this episode of "On Your Mark", we look at the importance of working as unto The Lord and making sure that our loyalty remains to God in our work. Our work is our worship and as long as we realize our true boss, God, our work will be right and our rest will be right.

While loyalty can be a good thing, the truth is it really depends on who has your loyalty. For Christians, Jesus Christ is the one in whom we devote absolute loyalty. After that, our loyalty has to be conditional and fluid. We have to make sure we are keeping God as number one and the supreme authority in our lives. To do otherwise and call it loyalty is to be dishonest and disobedient. Join us in this podcast as we discuss how to make sure we keep God priority one and our loyalties properly placed.

What is church and church service. How do we interact with it. As Christians, it is important that we have a good clear understanding of God's mandate for church, church service and how we as Christians should be involved with it. It is also very important that we don't allow tradition to guide us but instead God's word. In this episode we discuss how we as God's people, involve ourselves and interact with "The Church".

Traditions can be those things that ground us, direct us and keep us close to family. But what happens when they contradict the Bible. What happens when they lead and direct us to places we don't or shouldn't go, to do things we shouldn't do. In this episode of On Your Mark, we look at traditions and ask the simple question, where do we draw the line. The short answer and the answer the bible gives us is when the traditions of man contradict or go against the traditions of God, we are to disregard and do away with those traditions. As Christians we know and understand that God is all powerful, and Jesus has been given all authority in His hands. And that is a fact we have to remember and hold on to when it comes to The Occult. Because the Bible indicates that there are demonic forces at work around us, it is imperative that we don't participate with or in the "dark arts" to attempt to gain power. We must keep our trust in God not allowing our desire to know and understand what God hasn't revealed to lead us to submit to or dabble in some foreign power that will lead us to difficulty and disappointment. In this podcast we discuss the dangers or The Occult, psychics, sorcerers and power stones and how keeping our trust in Jesus and submitting to God's will is our best way forward and our blessed way forward.

Along this Christian journey it is so easy to get caught up in certain activities and rituals and not ever really know or understand the meanings behind them. It is important that we are mindful of what we do and why we do it. Certain rituals may seem innocent until we realize that we are ascribing to rituals meaning and power that is not due it. We have to be aware of things like sage burning and even incense burning to make sure we are not allowing those things to supplement or take the place of God.
