This week we feature Coach Dick Angle.  Coach Angle was born and raised on the West Side.  He played grade school football at St Brendan's School with many Chaney football greats and alumni....He played high school football at Ursuline and played in the City Series 8000 spectators would come to see the city rivals compete.

Coach Angle spent 40 years as a head football coach, most notably at his alma mater Ursuline High School and later Howland High School.  He amassed over 100 wins at UHS and over 100 wins at Howland High School.  During his tenure at Ursuline he competed against Chaney for many years and specifically Coach Berids.  Listen to the great respect he has for the Chaney Football program and the West Side.

This week we talk with Coach Turco.  Coach Turco wanted to talk with Ron about the 1989 football game in which there was some controversy on the final score of the game that led to a Rayen victory.  Tune in and see how it goes… 

Some Bio information on Coach Turco. 

From 1978-92, Coach Turco served as head football coach for The Rayen School.
He became the head football coach at Sharon Kennedy Catholic High School, also serving as the Golden Eagles track coach from 1994-2002 and in 2007, served as an assistant football coach at Chaney High School.

He was named District “Coach of the Year” in 1985 when he guided the Rayen Tigers to the OHSAA football play-offs, making it to the state’s “Final Four” when they posted a 2-1 mark and finished third overall. 

They were the first Youngstown City Series school to make the play-offs.
