Once Uponth a Time - A Once Upon a Time Podcast

Episode 8: 'The Birth' & 'The Bear King'...

One was good, but not great and one was not great and not that it wasn't good as much as it wasn't necessary...

We have two Dark Ones to contend with now and we feel that this will put a strain on everyone and folks will have to choose sides...Josh & Steph get a little deep and wax philosophical (on accident mind you) about where the fine folks of Storybrooke go from here. Some answers, but so many more questions!

We hope you have a very Happy Thanksgiving!

Episode 7: 'Nimue' - We learn more about Merlin's backstory and how he got his magic and the pain of his tragic love of Nimue, who later becomes the 1st Dark One. Emma (Darth Swan) is certainly up to something, even as she resists the draw of Dark power, it is becoming clear that she has an entirely different reasons to merge Excalibur and the Dagger...What is she up to? Will she be the first one to wild the power of Dark & Light?...Oh and another character was hot on the head this episode. We should really start counting these...

Episode 6: 'The Bear and the Bow'. First things first, Merlin is pretty dang awesome. That said, Belle and Merida are really the focus of this episode. And it's the first time I can remember a friendship grew from one person whacking the other on the head with a rock to kidnap them because why wouldn't they then help them save their queenship/brothers...But I digress...We learn magic mushrooms don't burn, Zelena may be the best Baddie on the show, Emma done messed up by making Rumple a hero, and Merlin sends a message to Obi-Wan because he's his only hope...

Oh and Josh knows he used the wrong name for the baby. He meant to say Neal instead of Roland. But send him mail anyway...maybe he'll try harder if he get's scolded enough. Maybe...

(For the WWE fans: Josh knows Becky Lynch isn't Australian. She's Irish. It's an inside joke with his oldest son Wyatt, who thinks all wrestlers with accents are from Austr

Episode 5: 'Dreamcatcher'. Things are picking up and folks are finding out things that were meant to be forgotten. Remind me to stay away from Dreamcatchers. They seem to bring more trouble than they're worth...Let's see, Emma & Regina free Merlin from the skin moisturizing tree, Henry gets his heart broken, Merida turns into a bully, and I guess magic can recharge phone batteries, and Steph sings a few bars of the Fine Young Cannibals, 'She Drives Me Crazy'...your welcome!

Episode 4: 'The Broken Kingdom'. Like the Sands of Avalon, so are the Days of Our Lives...Our brains hurt after all the flashbacks and jumping back in forth. Not so sure all the story jumps are within the confines of the overall story continuity, but that is a discussion for another time...Listen as Josh and Steph riff on the obsessiveness of Arthur, the main theme of perception vs reality, and what's up with all the pink roses.

If you've never watched this clip, 'It's Not About the Nail', then you should. Not only is it hilarious (because it's true), but it should be required viewing for all couples. Check it out at https://youtu.be/-4EDhdAHrOg

Episode 3: This week Josh & Steph discuss 'Siege Perilous'. All is not as it seems in Camelot or Storybrooke for that matter. Will the Dark Swan pull Excalibur from the Stone that she brought back from Camelot and keeps locked in the basement of the house that no one seems to know how she obtained? Will David ever wake up (metaphorically, of course) and see that when things are too easy...that they're too easy? Shouldn't the guy he whacked in the face with the plank have a mark where he got whacked? Because it clearly didn't leave one...all these questions and more are raised and most likely not answered. Hey, just being honest...This episode is so scatter-brained, just like you like it...

Episode 2: This week we discuss 'The Price'. Kinda a weird episode. Is it just us or shouldn't everyone in Storybrooke know that magic comes with a price? Felt like a filler episode. Seems like the writers are getting away from the character-driven stories. What did you think?
