Jefferson Shah, MD. Prior to this appointment, she was faculty at the University of California San Diego and Rady Children’s Hospital San Diego in the Division of Allergy, Immunology, and Rheumatology. She completed her allergy and immunology fellowship training at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID/NIH) in Bethesda, MD and residency in internal medicine at The George Washington University Hospital in Washington, DC. She received her medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine and her BA in Bioethics from Brown University. Dr. Jefferson Shah is also an expert in health policy and bioethics, completing post-graduate training in both fields at Georgetown University and the National Institutes of Health, respectively. In addition to clinical care, her work focuses on the intersections of health care, clinical research, health disparities, health policy, and ethics.

As the Director of the Breast Imaging and Intervention Center and the Program Leader for Breast Cancer at the George Washington Cancer Center, Dr. Brem works every day to prevent breast cancer from taking more lives. Dr. Brem will be sharing her story. Her work with the Brem Foundation, as well as the importance of early cancer screenings.

Join host, Dr. Shannon O'Connor, as she interviews Dr. Alexander N. Shoushtari. Dr. Alexander Shoushtari is an Assistant Attending Physician and Clinical Director of the Melanoma Service in the Department of Medicine at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and Assistant Professor at Weill Cornell Medical College. He focuses exclusively on treating patients with melanoma using standard and developmental immune and targeted therapies. Within melanoma, his specific interests lie in developing treatments for non-cutaneous melanoma subtypes arising from the uveal tract in the eye, hands/feet, and mucosal surfaces. His early career work in uveal melanoma systemic therapy has been recognized by ASCO with a Young Investigator Award and AACR with a Junior Investigator Award.
