On the show today I talk to two of the funniest ladies, Callie Christensen and Kelly Oriard are here from Slumberkins, a stuffed animal slash lovey that is designed to help your child through tough times and encourage social and emotional wellness. Callie and Kelly appeared on season 9, episode 11 of Shark Tank and they tell me all about what taping was really like and what one of the most stressful things about appearing on the show was - and it's not what you think!

On Big Biz we chat with my friend Rachel Genovese, the mom behind Cakes By Rachel, a small in-home bakery in Buffalo, New York who does amazing cake creations, like the kind you see on the internet that you know you could never do yourself. She gives some great tips for amature bakers and We talk far too much about the show Nailed It on Netfilx so if you love that show, you’re going to love this too.

Rachel's Sugar Cookies

1c Unsalted Butter

1c Sugar

1tsp Vanilla Extract

1/2tsp Almond Extract

1 Egg

2tsp Baking Powder

1/2tsp Salt

3c Flour

-Preheat oven to 350

-Cream butter and sugar until smooth (at least 3 minutes)

-Beat in extracts and egg

-In a separate bowl combine baking powder and salt with flour and add a little at a time to the wet ingredients.

-DO NOT CHILL THE DOUGH

-Bake at 350 for about 6-8 minutes.

-Makes around 3 dozen

Royal Icing

2c Powdered Sugar

1 Egg White

1tsp Lemon Juice

Today we are talking to Betsy Mikesell and Angie White, founders and creators of Beddy’s bedding. We talk about family, how moms are the worlds best problem solvers and what it was like being on the show The West Texas Investors Club on CNBC. Which, if you’re not familiar with it, is like the Texas version of Shark Tank. I think this is the very first episode that I didn’t edit anything out because these two ladies are so fun, and shared so much information I had to leave it all in!

She invented a silicon bath scrubbie that has now become in a staple in both my and my kids showers. On top of that she's charming and adorable and my future best friend.
