Wink Martindale gave the nod to Micah McFadden at ILB and that has the guys wondering - is this a reward for the second year player, inspiration for Darian Beavers to step up, or something in between. Regardless of the reasons, Adam insists that Beavers, still recovery from a season long injury, is the right answer at ILB.
Elsewhere, veteran Adoree Jackson has been playing more in the slot for Big Blue, and Andy sees this as the way to get the best collection of players on the field. With the emergence of Tre Hawkins and the development of first round pick Deonte Banks, there is a logic to have a an experienced player like Jackson shift his role. The real question is where the depth stands at the position and ultimately if the top of the roster will be ready for week after week challenges in the NFL.
Lastly, the guys note the Xavier McKinney contract negotiations, which have yet to get under way. While he is a young and well respected corner, a combination of injuries and positional price point have Adam and Andy contemplating life after Xavier.
