The Beatles said, “Hey, Jude!” And while it certainly isn’t a one-hit-wonder, it does help us frame our question this morning: “Why Jude?” It’s such a small, strange little letter (that wasn’t even supposed to be written, nonetheless!). It heavily relies on two different extra-biblical sources to make its point. So, why do we have it? Maybe more importantly, why should we pay attention to it (other than the obvious, “It’s in the Bible!)? Because it has a timeless, up-to-the-second-relevant message for the Church as a whole, and for its individual members as well.
