The very core of Christianity and the foundation of our faith is the Cross of Christ. Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection are what Paul would name as of "first importance" to his readers. As we have walked almost a year in the life of Christ, we have come to the core of Scripture. Everything before pointed to it; everything after points back to it. This is the defining moment. If there ever was a G.O.A.T. who walked this earth it would be Jesus.

Regrets. We all have them. Denying Jesus was a big one for Peter. But the grace and forgiveness of Jesus can undo many regrets we have in life when we allow ourselves to repent and turn. Satan may want to sift you as wheat, but we have a Savior who is praying for you always

We have fully entered into one of the darkest nights in human history, and for the next several weeks, quite frankly, there isn’t really anything joyful that happens. This week, we will focus not so much on the events of Jesus’ arrest, as on the instigator of it, a man called Judas, whom, from the first time we meet him, are reminded that he is the betrayer of Jesus. It’s easy to look down our nose at him, knowing what we know, but it might surprise us to realize that we have more in common with him than we think.

Are you in a season where it feels like the pressures are overwhelming? You are not alone. Gethsemane was that defining moment where Jesus, under all the weight and pressure of the coming moments, brought His struggle to His Father. Even in asking for a possible alternative, He was prepared to still do the will of the Father. And after a few agonizing hours in prayer, He was resolute to face the cross head on.

Jesus washing his disciple’s feet is one of the more talked about passages, especially when it comes to things like service and servant leadership. This morning, rather than focusing on the “what” or the “how,” we will focus on the “why.” It might surprise you, but more than surprise, it might convict you. It is amazing how that as we get older we sometimes lose our ability to remember things. Keys, phones, names, calendar appointments, etc. Often we need reminders to help us remember, especially the really important things. Those reminders are there to help us. But what if we ignore those reminders? The Lord’s Supper has been a reminder for us, just as the Passover was for the Israelites, but I pray we do a better job than they did of keeping the reminder before us. May we allow it to be a time of remembering forward and as we do may it help shape us into the image of Jesus.

What motivates you to give? Or do you? Jesus pointed out a woman who gave two mites (think of something that would take more than one to make a cent). Then he contrasted her to those who gave much larger sums of money to the treasury and said she gave more. You see, the means of the giver and the motive truly defines the measure of generosity. We all have different means, but what is your motive? Why do you give?

What is the greatest commandment? That was the question Jesus was asked. The first, the weightiest, the greatest is this; love God with all you got. So how do you demonstrate that? How do you show God that you love Him?

After Jesus’ Triumphant Entry into Jerusalem, his next step is somewhat anti-climactic. He goes to the Temple, looks around for a bit, then leaves town, back to Bethany where he started. But the following morning, when he returns again to the city, he has a plan, heading straight to the Temple, where he immediately begins to drive out the merchants. So many questions have surrounded this text over the years. Did it really happen? Was Jesus mad? If so, what was he mad about? Should we have coffee shops in church? What does this text mean for us today? Join us as we dive into all the questions, and seek to provide some handles for how this short story challenges us today.
