Following the loss of their unborn child Jim and Dolly grieved unspeakably, but even in their times of greatest sorrow they offered a sacrifice of praise. Because they had worshipped God faithfully in the sunshine of their lives, they were able to worship Him even in the darkest night. Jim wrote, “It was easy to praise Him in May when we were celebrating Dolly’s pregnancy. But it is important to praise Him now as we grieve the loss of our unborn child.”

“I will praise you, O Lord, with all my heart…those who know your name will trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you.”

Lord Jesus, help us to worship You faithfully when things are going well so that we may know how to offer a sacrifice of praise should tragedy suddenly befall us. In Your holy name we pray. Amen.
